<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Come join our team at the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) where you will experience work-life balance, great benefits, and an exciting career that supports the Agency's mission to make South Carolina a safe place to work and live.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>You will serve as the Board Executive for the South Carolina Board of Nursing (BON) to direct, plan, and manage the program activities impacting the Board and all aspects of its statutory and regulatory responsibilities. </li><li>You will oversee the administration and operation of BON, including the initial and renewal application and licensure process. </li><li>You will oversee the Board's financial management practices and monitor revenues and expenses. </li><li>You will prepare for and attend Board and committing meetings and take appropriate follow-up actions on directives and recommendations. </li><li>You will oversee and supervise staff that perform the Board's daily operations, including assessing staff needs and training. </li><li>You will develop and maintain successful and productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and partners. </li><li>You will review program efficiency and effectiveness and recommend and implement changes as needed or appropriate. </li><li>You will respond to questions and concerns from licensees, members of the legislature, and the general public. </li><li>You will perform other duties such as coordinating newsletters and publications, keeping information current for written and online platforms, and assisting with long-range plans and strategic objectives. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Licensed and/or registered nurse in South Carolina and/or prior program management or leadership experience. </li><li>Knowledge of the agency's mission, program, and objectives. </li><li>Knowledge of principles and theories of management, leadership skills, and how to work within an organizational structure. </li><li>Ability to interpret and apply statutes, rules and regulations. </li><li>Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees. </li><li>Ability to prepare and present presentations and reports. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. </li><li>Must possess organizational, analytical, interpersonal and strong communication skills. </li><li>Must demonstrate the ability to develop long-range plans to work cooperatively within a complex agency. </li><li>Must be competent to consult with nursing employers, educators, state and national associates, individual licensees and the public regarding the Nurse Practice Act. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing. </li><li>May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs. </li><li>Daily telephone and computer use. </li><li>Occasional overnight travel to state and national meetings. </li><li>Occasional work outside of normal Agency hours. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Benefits Offered</p> <p>The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation offers an exceptional benefits package for FTE positions that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Health, dental, vision, long term disability, and life insurance for employee, spouse, and children </li><li>15 days annual (vacation) leave per year </li><li>15 days sick leave per year </li><li>13 paid holidays </li><li>Paid Parental Leave </li><li>State Retirement Plan and Deferred Compensation Programs </li></ul>
