<p>Job Title: Seasonal Cold Weather Case Manager</p> <p>FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt - Seasonal</p> <p>Reports to:</p> <p>Schedule: 40W M-F 7:00AM - 3:30PM (some weekends/holidays required)</p> <p>Rate of Pay: $26.00/ hour</p> <p>Closing Date: 12/12/2025</p> <p>Benefits: Seasonal; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire) </li></ul> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Seasonal Cold Weather Case Manager position supports the provision of Coordinated Entry of social services in Colorado by providing information, referral, intake assessment, and emergency casework services over the phone, via email, video chat, and/or in person. The Cold Weather Team will be responsible for providing access to shelter during severe weather events in alignment with citywide severe weather policies. This will include expanding the hours of operation and/or operating an additional telephone line to provide additional access during severe weather events. This also includes working with HOST on a procedure to provide additional hours of operation and additional staff coverage during distinct weather events. Additionally, The Salvation Army will be responsible for providing on-site staffing at the Cold Weather sheltering location during activation, to include screening families for eligibility, providing rapid resolution services as appropriate, writing vouchers on the spot for cold weather, and completing HMIS intakes and data entry.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>General:</p> <ul> <li>Answers calls for information regarding cold weather shelter and other community resources. </li><li>Focus on triaging, VISPDATs, and providing rapid resolution assistance, as needed. </li><li>Enrolling families for cold weather vouchers and shelter waitlists. </li><li>Connect qualified candidates with their appropriate partner agency. </li><li>Provide financial assistance when appropriate. </li><li>Documents calls accurately utilizing a computerized internal database. </li><li>Record and track assistances in HMIS according to HUD standards. </li><li>Completing all required assessments with households to determine program eligibility. </li><li>Use active and compassionate communication skills. </li><li>Use trauma informed care to deescalate upset individuals on the phone or in person. </li><li>Performs other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred </li><li>Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, or a related field, transcripts required </li><li>Two years' experience in providing casework services required </li><li>Experience working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and educational levels required </li><li>Customer service experience preferred </li><li>Working knowledge of integrated database applications preferred </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Critical thinking </li><li>Sound judgment and decision making </li><li>Works well with a team </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication </li><li>Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel </li><li>Working knowledge of integrated database applications </li><li>Able to use new software programs with basic training </li><li>Bilingual preferred </li></ul> <p>Qualities</p> <ul> <li>Must be highly motivated and a self-starter </li><li>Supportive of The Salvation Army's mission </li><li>Able to reflect and model the high standards of our organization </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Driving </li></ul> <p>If the position requires driving:</p> <ul> <li> <p>The employee must be 21 years old at minimum (for insurance provision) and possess a valid in-state driver's license</p> </li><li> <p>An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies</p> </li><li> <p>Background Check</p> </li><li> <p>Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies</p> </li><li> <p>Physical</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maneuver, to remain in a stationary position, to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead, to lift 25 pounds, to access and produce information from the computer, to operate telephone, to understand written information</p> </li><li> <p>Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
