<p>Position Summary: The Assistant Day Camp Director is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation and organization of the day camp.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design a curriculum and daily schedule for campers ages 5-14 with various stations</p> </li><li> <p>Supervision of day camp counselors</p> </li><li> <p>Develop a work schedule for all counselors</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that Safe from Harm practices are ALWAYS followed! (child safety program)</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate expectations with staff</p> </li><li> <p>Hold 20-25 hours of Counselor Training prior to the start of Day Camp</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all food safety guidelines; clean kitchen following meal service</p> </li><li> <p>Fill out appropriate documentation for schools and SA statistics</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate the supply list and purchase of food and paper products for breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack daily</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare a weekly informative communication (email, Facebook, and/or newsletter)</p> </li><li> <p>Field Trips:</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and organize all Field Trips/Swimming Trips.</p> </li><li> <p>Organize transportation</p> </li><li> <p>May drive for field trips</p> </li><li> <p>Keep accurate records for each camper/family including:</p> </li><li> <p>attendance records</p> </li><li> <p>parent sign in/out sheets</p> </li><li> <p>incident reports</p> </li><li> <p>medicine charts</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee Daily Cleaning of Day Camp Facilities</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 21 years of age </li><li>College Educated; Teacher Education Preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities </li><li>Experience in administration, summer day camp programs, classroom management, etc. </li></ul> <p>Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:</p> <p>Computer Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Basic computer skills </li><li>Advances knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite </li></ul> <p>Certificates and Licenses:</p> <ul> <li>Have and maintain a current First Aid/CPR certification (provide certificates) </li><li>Must have and maintain a current valid chauffers' driver's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) </li><li>Able to drive a 12-passenger van </li></ul> <p>The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
