The Music Teacher is responsible for teaching general music to students in the Elementary School and for designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate, inquiry-driven music program that reflects Orchard's progressive philosophy and commitment to the whole child.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> <p>? Teach general music to students in Grades 1-4 using developmentally appropriate curriculum and pedagogy</p> <p>? Design and implement a Grades 1-4 music curriculum grounded in the</p> <p>Orff-Schulwerk approach and aligned with the National Standards for Music Education</p> <p>? Plan, rehearse, and direct grade-level and Elementary School performances</p> <p>? Collaborate with Elementary School teachers to support meaningful curriculum integration</p> <p>? Assess student learning and report on grade-level music benchmarks and standards for Grades 1-4 students</p> <p>? Communicate clearly and proactively with families, colleagues, and administrators regarding student progress and performance schedules</p> <p>? Contribute to the life of the school through participation in faculty meetings, professional development, duties, and school events</p> <p>Qualifications- The most competitive candidates will possess most or all of the following qualifications and qualities:</p> <p>? Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field</p> <p>? Demonstrated experience teaching general music at the elementary level</p> <p>? Knowledge of the Orff-Schulwerk approach or willingness to pursue training in this methodology</p> <p>? Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan, rehearse, and direct performances</p> <p>? Deep understanding of how children learn and commitment to differentiated instruction</p> <p>? Thoughtful approach to selecting and using music that reflects diverse voices, cultures, and perspectives</p> <p>? Collaborative spirit and commitment to supporting a vibrant, inclusive performing arts program</p> <p>?
