<p>The Public Construction Project Manager (PM) position is responsible for the execution of assigned public building construction and site development projects undertaken by the Division. Examples of the type of projects managed include courthouse facilities, fire and rescue stations, parks including various recreational facilities, major office renovations and building additions. The Project Manager is responsible for both technical and managerial work during project planning, design, permitting and construction of each project. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully managing both pre-construction and construction phases of complex projects with on time and on budget delivery with diverse stakeholders and consultant teams. The Project Manager also performs supervision of the project Construction Engineer during the construction phase of each project. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Public Construction Program Manager.</p> <p>There are two levels for this position</p> <p>The hiring ranges for each based on experience are:</p> <p>Project Manager I - $77,417.60 to $106,454.40</p> <p>Project Manager II - $88,649.60 to $121,908.80</p> <p>The full salary ranges for each to provide opportunity for growth and development are:</p> <p>Project Manager I - $77,417.60 to $134,491.20</p> <p>Project Manager II - $88,649.60 to $155,147.20</p> <p>Required application materials</p> <p>All applicants must submit a comprehensive project list with the application including:</p> <ul> <li>Each project's name </li><li>A general description of the work </li><li>Include the size and value of the project </li><li>Date of project completion </li><li>The applicant's specific role on the project. </li><li>Independently manages and guides to successful completion, in a timely manner and within budget, complex water and sanitary sewer utility engineering, building engineering design and or construction projects which are part of the Capital Improvement Plan as well as needs of the Utilities Department; </li><li>Reviews construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other project related documents; </li><li>Prepares bid documents, requests for proposals, contracts, and purchase orders; reviews project proposals; prepares and maintains project records and files; </li><li>Tracks Budget; approves invoices; prepares reports for projects; </li><li>Coordinates with other county departments for reviews; </li><li>Performs inspection and monitoring of work in progress; inspects construction in progress and prepares or reviews reports on the status or completion; </li><li>Prepares plans and specifications for projects; </li><li>Coordinates work of consulting engineers, contractors, and operation and maintenance personnel; </li><li>Evaluates requests for information and change orders from contractors; </li><li>Assures that permits and inspections are on schedule; </li><li>Performs duties of project engineer on construction projects; </li><li>Assists in the development, planning, design, environmental permitting, bidding, and construction of multiple complex projects; </li><li>Attends meetings where necessary to advance project; </li><li>Performs related tasks as required. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of modern principles and practices of engineering; </li><li>Thorough knowledge of modern principles and practices of building construction to include building codes; </li><li>Detailed knowledge of design, construction, maintenance, and management of multiple complex utility, building and development projects; </li><li>Thorough knowledge of site evaluation, appraisal, and acquisition procedures; </li><li>Possess a detailed understanding of the requirements for electrical, mechanical, and concrete construction; </li><li>Ability to prepare technical reports, plans, and specifications; </li><li>Ability to understand and interpret descriptions, construction plans, engineering records, and maps; </li><li>Ability to plan and effectively supervise the work of supportive personnel; </li><li>Ability to establish effective working relationships with other department staff, contractors, and the general public. </li></ul> <p>Project Manager I</p> <p>A combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or related field and 3 years of experience with construction or project engineering/management of large projects. </p> <p>Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.</p> <p>Project Manager II</p> <p>A combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or related field and 5 years of experience with construction or project engineering/management of large projects. </p> <p>Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.</p>
