<p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>The Pathologists' Assistant PA(ASCP) provides highly specialized services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist. The Pathologists' Assistant aids in the supervision and training of grossing technicians, resident physicians, and pathology fellows in dissection procedures and techniques. Responsibilities include prioritizing workflow, examination, and dissection of routine to highly complex neoplastic cases, submission of tissue for histological analysis, procurement of tissue for ancillary studies, summarizing and dictating medical histories and gross findings, assuring appropriate specimen accessioning, photographing specimens, and performing frozen sections for pathologists' interpretation.</p> <p>Additional Job Description</p> <p>Education: Master's degree from an accredited NAACLS Pathologist Assistant program and Board of registry certification (or eligibility) through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP). If registry eligible, certification must be obtained within one year of hire. A minimum of two to four years relevant work experience required, four to ten years of work experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
