<p>The City of Kingsport is currently taking applications for the following position:</p> <p>Day Camp Counselor(s)</p> <p>Bays Mountain Park</p> <p>(Temporary / Seasonal)</p> <p> </p> <p>Responsible for supervising campers and keeping them safe. Duties include teaching children's recreational skills,</p> <p>overseeing, and planning camp activities and learning and implementing emergency protocol efforts to ensure the</p> <p>protection of campers. Counselors work, typically, Monday - Friday 8:30am-4pm with some weekends and nights due</p> <p>to special events at the park.</p> <p>We are in need of two (2) junior counselors.Junior Counselor qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Education - Must be a least a high school senior who has been accepted into a college or university for Fall 2025 semester.</p> </li><li> <p>Major Course of study should be in natural history, education, or a related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in relating well with young student groups and general public program participants.</p> </li><li> <p>Be comfortable with public speaking to audiences and communicating in both public and private settings.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.</p> </li></ol> <p>Open to receive applications until March 21, 2025.    Hourly rate $10.00 EOE</p> <p>City of Kingsport does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, ethnicity, </p> <p>national origin, sex, disability, age, status as a protected veteran, or any other class protected by Federal or State laws and</p> <p>regulations.</p>
