<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Student Support Services/Guidance Counselor</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>4/1/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>District</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>ASAP</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Job Title: Anticipated Opening: District Mental Health Clinician Long Term Substitute (April 2026 - April 2027)</p> <p>Description: Burlington Township School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician/Wellness Counselor to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to promote the social, emotional, and personal development of all students, ensuring a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters student success. (Flexible schedule may be possible.)</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Student Support: Provide comprehensive support to students in addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use, school stress, personal conflicts, character development, and other barriers to success. </li><li>Collaboration: Work closely with the building administrative team, counseling team, and other certificated staff members to coordinate, facilitate, and implement mental health support services. </li><li>District Coordination: Collaborate with District-level administrators to align and coordinate mental health support services across the District. </li><li>Emotional Support: Offer emotional support to students, fostering a safe and successful learning environment, primarily focusing on middle and high school levels. </li><li>Capacity Building: Focus on building students' capacity for academic success and positive social and emotional well-being through targeted interventions and support strategies. </li><li>Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and management as needed, ensuring students receive immediate and appropriate support. </li><li>Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of mental health programs and initiatives that promote overall student wellness. </li><li>Parent and Community Engagement: Engage with parents and community members to support student mental health and well-being, providing resources and guidance as needed. </li><li>Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling and wellness education. </li></ul> <p>Seeking a successful candidate who demonstrates the ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Must meet New Jersey residency requirements. </li><li>Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. </li><li>Highly organized and motivated. Self-starter. Ability to work independently. </li><li>Ability to multitask. </li><li>Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and demonstrate flexibility. </li><li>Required criminal history background check, proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MUST HAVE New Jersey certification Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Nurse Practitioner with a concentration in mental health.
