<ul> <li>Master's Degree in school counseling, or a related field </li><li>DESE Licensure: School Counselor 5-12 </li><li>Well developed social and emotional skills; ability to collaborate, communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with numerous stakeholders </li><li>Ability to use evidence-based practices to develop students' social and emotional skills and support mental health wellness </li><li>Familiarity with postgraduate planning and application process </li><li>Experience adjusting student schedules, which includes placement of students in appropriate classes to ensure college and career readiness; ability to analyze transcripts to allow access and opportunity to every student. </li><li>Understanding of Section 504 federal law & experience facilitating the process. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Dual licensure School Counseling 5-12 and School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor </li><li>Prior experience developing and transmitting post-secondary documentation via Naviance or similar system. </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Provide counseling to students to support the development of their social, emotional and academic skills, mental health wellness and postgraduate planning needs. </li><li>Provide individual and group counseling support and group learning opportunities to students. </li><li>Consult with, collaborate and share expertise with counseling colleagues, teachers, administrators, families and related-service providers to meet students' needs. </li><li>Coordinate and oversee the 504 process for students on your caseload </li><li>Collaborate with the special education around the initial and re-evaluation process </li><li>Collect, maintain, and present data when applicable. </li><li>Develop letters of recommendation for students on your caseload. </li><li>Attend and participate in relevant meetings. </li><li>Provide resources and learning opportunities to families and guardians to support student learning, wellness and postgraduate preparation. </li><li>Participate in professional development to remain current with school counseling and evidence-based practices </li><li>Utilize relevant information and professional judgment in determining whether events or processes comply with laws, regulation and standards </li><li>Consistent and on-time attendance is required </li><li>Responsible for implementing "other job related duties" as directed. </li></ul>
