<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Gasconade County R-I Schools</p> <p>Job Description: Building Principal</p> <p>Department: Elementary School</p> <p>Reports to: Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>Classification: FLSA exempt (not eligible for overtime pay)</p> <p>Summary: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>As a member of the Gasconade County R-I School District Administration team, the Building Principal will plan and execute activities to meet the needs of students; consult with teachers, staff, and parents to enhance their effectiveness and provide guidance and support to students and staff.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Manage school building operations coordinating with the Director of Maintenance as necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Execute effective student discipline</p> </li><li> <p>Observe and evaluate staff and provide instructional support</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the sports and activities of the school district as required</p> </li><li> <p>Guide and counsel teachers and students to be respectful, have a positive attitude, and behave in accordance with school policies</p> </li><li> <p>Interact with school staff, students, parents and others in a professional manner as a representative of the school district</p> </li><li> <p>Consult with teachers, staff, and parents regarding the school district's mission and programs</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain student confidentiality at all times in accordance with FERPA law</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate or conduct activities which contribute to the effective operation of the school's activities programs</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the work of Assistant Principal (if appropriate)</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate and advise revisions to the building use policy as necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate coaching staff</p> </li><li> <p>Pursue professional growth</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>A Masters Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning is required. A valid Principal's certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education must be held by the employee.</p> <p>Language</p> <p>The employee must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.</p> <p>Technology</p> <p>The employee must be able to successfully navigate software programs in use by the district including student data systems used for student information. The employee should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel as well as email.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Standing/Walking - Employee must be able to walk indoors or outdoors distances required to maintain each campus. The employee must be able to go in all parts of the building, including stairs and outdoors. The employee must be able to stand for a period of time of at least one hour.</p> <p>Hearing - Employee must be able to have sufficient hearing ability to listen in quiet as well as noisy environments.</p> <p>Speaking - Employee will need to speak clearly in a voice sufficient to be heard and understood by others. The employee will need to be able to speak to groups effectively.</p> <p>Seeing - Employee will need to have sufficient vision to be able to read materials up close as well as from a distance.</p> <p>Bending/Lifting - Employee must be able to bend, kneel, or squat as necessary to complete tasks or to get onto the level of the children being addressed. Employee should be capable of lifting materials weighing up to 30 lbs.</p> <p>Attendance</p> <p>Good attendance and punctuality are required.
