<p>As Certified Pharmacy Technician you will assist with pharmacy operations, assisting pharmacists in the preparation, distribution, and management of medications for inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical units. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, this role includes compounding, labeling, packaging, and delivering medications while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.</p> <p>This position also requires expertise in sterile compounding, including handling chemotherapy and hazardous substances while maintaining a sterile IV room environment. Technicians must be proficient in utilizing electronic health records and pharmacy automated systems, working across multiple pharmacy areas to enhance competency and skill development.</p> <p>Location: Norwood, OH</p> <p>Work Hours:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time, 80 hours bi-weekly </li><li>Day shift </li><li>No weekends or holidays commitment </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) provided by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT Certification by the National Healthcareer Association </li><li>Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician </li><li>Up to 1 year of relevant pharmacy technician experience </li><li>Must have held a Pharmacy Technician II role to qualify for the Pharmacy Technician III position (Internal) </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary based on experience </li><li>Sign-on bonus of $5,000.00 for eligible external candidates w/one-year commitment </li><li>Comprehensive healthcare, 401K, and paid time off benefits </li><li>Opportunities for professional development </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Compounded Sterile Product Preparation </li><li>Assist in preparing, dispensing, and distributing sterile medications, including chemotherapy and hazardous drugs </li><li>Adhere to USP 797, USP 800, ASHP, NIOSH, and Board of Pharmacy regulations </li><li>Maintain sterile environments and ensure accurate documentation of cleaning logs </li><li>Properly dispose of chemotherapy and hazardous waste according to safety protocols </li><li>Medication Management & Dispensing </li><li>Select, count, compound, package, and label medications per department guidelines </li><li>Operate Automated Dispensing Machines (loading, refilling, resolving discrepancies) </li><li>Fulfill Stock Orders/Emergency Carts/Boxes accurately and efficiently </li><li>Deliver medications safely via tube system, cart delivery, IV runs, and STAT requests </li><li>Controlled Substance Compliance </li><li>Maintain accurate CII-CV controlled substances inventory </li><li>Review and maintain controlled substance records and report discrepancies promptly </li></ul> <p>Workflow & Operational Support</p> <ul> <li>Prioritize workload efficiently while maintaining strong technical judgment </li><li>Assist in training new employees and providing mentorship </li><li>Troubleshoot and report pharmacy automation issues while maintaining compliance with pharmacy policies </li></ul> <p>Communication & Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Respond professionally to pharmacist, nursing, physician, and patient inquiries </li><li>Appropriately triage and follow up on requests in a timely manner </li></ul> <p>Other Important Information</p> <ul> <li>Must transition from Pharmacy Technician II to Pharmacy Technician III </li><li>Required to train and handle hazardous sterile medications </li><li>Must be comfortable working with hazardous and toxic substances </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>This role requires various physical and cognitive demands to support daily responsibilities as follow:</p> <p>Physical Activities:</p> <ul> <li>Climbing - Rarely </li><li>Kneeling - Rarely </li><li>Lifting <10 lbs. - Consistently </li><li>Lifting 11-50 lbs. - Occasionally </li><li>Lifting 50+ lbs. - Rarely </li><li>Pulling - Rarely </li><li>Pushing - Frequently </li><li>Reaching - Consistently </li><li>Sitting - Occasionally </li><li>Standing - Consistently </li><li>Stooping - Frequently </li><li>Walking - Frequently </li></ul> <p>Cognitive & Sensory Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Concentrating - Consistently </li><li>Continuous Learning - Consistently </li><li>Hearing (Conversation) - Consistently </li><li>Interpersonal Communication - Consistently </li><li>Reading - Consistently </li><li>Thinking/Reasoning - Consistently </li><li>Use of Hands - Consistently </li><li>Color Vision - Consistently </li></ul> <p>TriHealth SERVE Standards and ALWAYS Behaviors</p> <p>At TriHealth, we believe there is no responsibility more important than to SERVE our patients, our communities, and our fellow team members.
