<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Budget Title: Senior Programmer/Analyst</p> <p>Campus Title: Senior System Developer</p> <p>Unit: Information Systems</p> <p>Professional Rank and Salary: SL-4 $60,000 - 70,000 DOQ</p> <p>Location: Syracuse</p> <p>Description of Duties:</p> <p>The State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) in Syracuse, NY invites qualified applications for the position of Senior System Developer. Under the supervision of the Manager of Information Systems, the Senior Systems Developer is part of a multi-functional Information Systems team developing cross-system solutions for constituent campus units. This position's main responsibilities involve development for and support of the daily business functions of the Ellucian Banner systems and related products. The Developer will have some further responsibility in supporting data analysis and reporting needs of College business units. This position has the possibility for a hybrid work location.</p> <p>Duties of the position include:</p> <ul> <li>Primary technical support of Student Academic records, as well as related state/federal reporting and filings (Clearinghouse, SIRIS reporting). </li><li>Primary technical support of Ellucian Degree Works. </li><li>Supporting and implementing Ellucian Banner functionalities, upgrades. </li><li>Coordinating submission and tracking of upgrade tickets for all Banner modules. </li><li>Writing and maintaining Oracle SQL extracts, scripts, reports, and queries for system integrations. </li><li>Aiding in the configuration, setup, and execution of Ellucian Banner tasks and processes as related to automation. </li><li>Assist with day-to-day production troubleshooting, resolve urgent programmatic issues or client issues, and provide assistance and support to administrative and academic departments. </li><li>Working with third party contacts to update and maintain external systems. </li><li>Collaborating with Information Technology staff members in the introduction of new technologies. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area. </li><li>At least three (3) to four (4) years of applicable programming experience, with evidence of progression in responsibilities. </li><li>Experience with Ellucian Banner. </li><li>Experience with Oracle SQL or other SQL platforms. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Ellucian Degree Works </li><li>Experience with the SUNY system and their ITEC and SICAS organizations </li><li>Experience with SUNY school SIRIS reporting </li><li>Experience with SUNY-ServiceNow </li><li>Experience requesting upgrades for hosted environments </li><li>Experience with Banner 9 SSB functionality </li><li>Experience with a UNIX/LINUX command line environment (SQL PLUS) </li><li>Familiar with administering Ellucian Banner systems and their security model </li><li>Familiar with Ellucian automation via Automic </li><li>Ability to manage multiple, deadline-driven assignments effectively </li><li>Ability to communicate positively and effectively with students, faculty and staff </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act" institutions of higher education are required to prepare an annual report containing information on campus security policies and campus statistics. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by SUNY-ESF; and on property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, and other matters.
