<p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Elementary Principal</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT STATUS:</p> <p>Regular, full time</p> <p>Pay Grade 62</p> <p>FLSA STATUS:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Guide students in the proper and effective use of technology. Manage an elementary school library/media center.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain the computer lab as an attractive and inviting learning environment for children.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise the daily operation of the computer lab.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the Technology Department in tracking the location of technology within the building.</p> </li><li> <p>Educate students in regards to the proper and safe usage of the internet.</p> </li><li> <p>Research, social media, etc… (age appropriateness)</p> </li><li> <p>Guide students through an online technology program.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage an online technology program for students.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop student technology skills and abilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot minor technology issues as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist teachers and students with integrating technology within the classroom.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist teachers and students with educational activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with planning and implementing building events as needed involving technology.</p> </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Observe the adopted daily building schedule, and perform all assigned duties. </li><li>Attend all assigned staff meetings, unless excused. </li><li>Serve as a role model for students in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values. </li><li>Maintain an appropriate personal appearance. </li><li>Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district. </li><li>Keep on file any Board policies that relate to the library or library materials. </li><li>Engage in professional growth activities as assigned. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Technology. </li><li>Maintain the library as an attractive and inviting center for learning, independent study and reading for pleasure. </li><li>Supervise the daily operation of the library. </li><li>Maintain check-out, catalog and inventory systems for library materials and equipment, as directed. </li><li>Instruct students in the use of the library. </li><li>Conduct book sharing sessions for students during assigned library periods. </li><li>Identify, in cooperation with the Principal, the High School Librarian and/or an advisory council, the materials and equipment needs of the media center. </li><li>Process requisitions for books, materials and equipment. </li><li>Prepare purchased items for circulation. </li><li>Make minor repairs to equipment and books as needed. </li><li>Supervise students who help in the library. </li><li>Assist teachers with the location of library materials that support their instructional activities. </li><li>Tape and distribute instructional television programs, as directed. </li><li>Supervise the operation of the library computers, as directed. </li><li>Assist with planning and implementing building/department events, such as Right-to-Read and visits from authors. </li><li>Remove obsolete and unusable materials from the collection. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma. </li><li>Post high school education preferred. </li><li>Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of libraries, children's literature and record keeping. </li><li>Well-developed organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work with children in a positive manner. </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively with staff. </li><li>Basic knowledge of computer technology, or willingness to acquire and appropriately apply such knowledge. </li></ul> <p>EQUIPMENT OPERATED:</p> <ul> <li>Computers/printers. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. </li><li>Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather. </li><li>Potential interaction with unruly children. </li><li>Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, reach with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, and kneel. </li><li>Requirement to lift, carry, push and pull various items; for example, books and supplies, up to a maximum of 25 lbs. </li></ul> <p>NOTE: The above lists may not be ranked in order of importance.</p> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Length of Employment: One Year Limited Contract </li><li>Salary: Based on current classified salary schedule with appropriate experience and training </li><li>Fringe Benefits: Based on current classified handbook </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Please submit a letter of interest and resume to the online application.
