<p>HAL - Entertainment Director</p> <p>Department: Entertainment</p> <p>Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract</p> <p>Location: Global</p> <p>Reporting To: Hotel General Manager</p> <p>Description</p> <p>The Entertainment Director leads all aspects of onboard entertainment, setting the standard for quality, communication, and team culture. This role requires a confident and thoughtful leader who can manage complex operations, guide a diverse team, and collaborate effectively with other shipboard leaders.</p> <p>The ideal candidate brings a calm, collaborative approach to leadership, fostering an inclusive and high-performing team environment while effectively partnering with senior officers and department heads. As the face of entertainment onboard, the Entertainment Director is not only responsible for the guest experience-but also for building strong internal relationships that support consistency, clarity, and excellence across the operation.</p> <p>Key Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Every job requires flexibility; however, your Key Job Responsibilities are to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide a superior show-going experience that meets the company's artistic, technical, and operational standards, including presentations in the World Stage. </li><li>Tour manage the ship's Performers, Presenters, entertainment vendors, and Charters, providing exemplary care and services through honed communication and intelligent leadership. </li><li>Manage the entertainment team, driving employee retention and promoting professional development. </li><li>Manage the daily performance and presentation schedule. </li><li>Oversee daily programming and cruise arc guaranteeing the optimum guest experience over the course of each voyage while maintaining brand procedures and expectations. </li><li>Oversee entertainment inventory by ensuring stock, replenishment, repairs, and storage organization are timely and appropriate for the success of the onboard entertainment operation. </li><li>Manage accommodations for entertainment team, Performers/Presenters, and contractors/vendors. </li><li>Complete managerial tasks related to the administration of your entertainment team, including time & attendance oversight, in-port manning schedules, performance evaluations, etc. </li><li>Maintain compliance with all health, safety, security and environmental policies of the Company. </li><li>Display impeccable dress sense and appearance and ensure the entertainment team does the same in accordance with the House Rules. </li></ul> <p>Desired Skills</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a related field (entertainment, hospitality, management, or similar) or similar work experience. </li><li>Minimum 5 years of entertainment leadership experience, preferably in a shipboard or resort environment </li><li>Proven ability to manage complex live entertainment operations and diverse teams in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and administrative skills, with a commitment to guest service and brand standards </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with digital scheduling, programming, or communication tools </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience as an Entertainment Director, Cruise Director, or equivalent leadership role in a premium or luxury cruise or hospitality brand </li><li>Demonstrated success managing team development, morale, and retention in an international, multi-departmental environment </li><li>Ability to think strategically while handling operational details and logistics under pressure </li><li>Experience leading multi-venue programming and collaborating cross-functionally with hotel and revenue teams </li><li>Familiarity with international performers, presenters, and vendor relations </li></ul>
