<p>Assistant Professor + Coordinator of Foundations</p> <p>Location: Lakewood, CO</p> <p>Target Salary: $60,000 - $68,000 per year</p> <p>Target fill date: Priority Deadline August 31, 2025, applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled</p> <p>Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design seeks a Foundations Studio Coordinator. This position integrates teaching responsibilities with studio management, allowing a faculty member to both inspire students in the classroom and oversee the foundations studio spaces. The coordinator will collaborate with department leadership to foster student learning and success through curriculum development, managing studio operations, safety protocols, and equipment. The successful candidate will support the college's mission and reports the department Chair and Program Leads.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A Master of Fine Arts in Studio or related field </li><li>3 years of university-level teaching experience </li><li>A strong knowledge base and proven commitment to teaching studio foundations and supporting first year students </li><li>Strong expertise in wood shop fabrication, digital fabrication, and contemporary sculpture </li><li>Proven track record of supporting students in and out of the classroom </li><li>Experience in managing studio spaces </li><li>Evidence of current professional practice through exhibitions, publications, or similar endeavors </li><li>Ability to collaborate with faculty and students from diverse disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds </li><li>Must live in or relocate to the Denver Metro area </li></ul> <p>Teaching Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach a minimum of 1 class (12-20) students within each 8 week term for 5 terms, both in person and online </li><li>Collaborate in the development of curriculum with RMCAD faculty including the development of video tutorials for studio instruction as needed </li></ul> <p>Studio Coordination + Facilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the foundations wood shop facility </li><li>Oversee inventories, orders, equipment repairs, and track consumables of the foundations department </li><li>Create, implement, and administer safety protocols through education and training of all faculty and students </li><li>Document and authenticate safety training certification of all wood shop users </li><li>Establish and track studio utilization metrics </li><li>Oversee weekly open-studio hours for student and faculty access to the wood shop and lab spaces </li><li>Coordinate, develop, and conduct co-curricular workshops for students and faculty as needed </li><li>Assist with fabrication and design questions during open wood shop hours and class times </li></ul> <p>Mentorship:</p> <ul> <li>Direct, coordinate, and evaluate assigned work-study students </li><li>Orient and educate the RMCAD community regarding studio procedures, tools, and equipment </li></ul> <p>Scholarship + Creative Work:</p> <ul> <li>Evidence of active studio practice through creation and exhibition </li><li>Evidence of ongoing scholarship through conference presentations, publications, curation, etc. </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <p>Please submit the following documents in your application by August 31, 2025.
