Overview: We are looking for dynamic high school teachers who are passionate about buildingrelationships with students, who develop highly engaging lessons, and inspire students to reach theirmaximum potential.Our Commitment: The school will employ standards based and research proven curriculum, implement best educational practices, use a variety of assessments to measure on-going student progress in skills and content learning, and support teachers with professional development activities that are aligned to the instructional program.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferredValid NYS teacher certification (7-12) requiredMastery of content knowledge in assigned area (s) of instruction Mastery of assigned subject; knowledge of current practices Duties & ResponsibilitiesImplement a coherent, research-based curriculum in consultation with Administration and DirectorsTeach students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in an inclusion setting and implement IEPs as necessaryDocument all syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, rubrics and other instructional materials and methodsUse consistent school-wide practices and a variety of individualized methods to engage students in the classroomDocument all lesson plans, assignments, rubrics and other instructional materials and methodsUse consistent school-wide practices and a variety of individualized methods to engage students in the classroomUse technology tools for instruction, planning, and communication and ensure student engagementMeasure student achievement and progress towards learning objectives using the school's formative and summative assessment toolsEvaluate academic achievement through detailed data analysis of student performance on a wide variety of metricsProvide ongoing and timely feedback to students on their progress towards meeting expectations and achieving goalsUse student data to reflect on effectiveness of lessons and student achievement progress in order to improve instruction and personal practiceSubmit assessment data and reports to the Principal in a timely mannerCreate, and manage a responsive learning environment that enables students to feel safe, to be creative, and to develop to their full potentialImplement and enforce the school's code of conductOrganize and supervise approved field trips to enhance classroom learning.Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, colleagues and administratorsDevelop and use rubrics for evaluating student products and performancesOversee and assist with student arrival/dismissalWork closely with all members of school community, model citizenship, collaboration and support of one anotherOther tasks as assigned by the AdministrationCompensation A competitive compensation package including base salary and complete benefits is available.
