<p>Position: Music Engineering Teacher</p> <p>Location: TIGER Clubhouse - 565 Morris Avenue, Bronx, NY 10451</p> <p>Salary Range: $30.00 per hour</p> <p>Hours: 8-10 hours per week</p> <p>Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt/Seasonal</p> <p>About Us</p> <p>Founded in 1876, The Boys' Club of New York (BCNY) is a youth development organization with the mission to empower boys and young men, ages 7 to 21, by providing effective programs and a supportive community. BCNY provides evidence-based programs to address the evolving social, emotional, health, creative, educational, and vocational needs of our members in meaningful, lasting ways. BCNY develops programs to cultivate positive qualities in members and strives to continually deepen and broaden our impact.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>We are a COVID-19 proactive organization that follows applicable health and safety regulations to help protect our members and staff. The Music Engineering Teacher will work with our teen population to teach a basic music engineering course.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Teach members how to set up a recording studio </li><li>Instruct members on recording techniques including mic placement, vocal tracking, and live instrument capture </li><li>Teach members about essential studio equipment and studio equipment etiquette </li><li>Teach the fundamentals of engineering, including recording, mixing, and editing </li><li>Instruct members on how to balance audio levels, use effects, and prepare music for final release. </li><li>Provide hands-on mixing tutorials: EQ, compression, reverb, automation, leveling, and exporting tracks for streaming platforms. </li><li>Guide students in creating original songs, remixes, and collaborative projects </li><li>Introduce members to DAWs such as Pro Tools & Logic Pro X </li><li>Maintain accurate records of lesson content, student progress, attendance, and performance evaluations </li><li>Create and present a final project based on what they have learned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Post-secondary training or college credits; or six months to one-year related experience in music production, recording, and engineering (portfolio or demo reel appreciated). Previous experience in youth development, education, or afterschool. Associate's degree (A.A) preferred. DOH and DOE fingerprinted desirable; First Aid and CPR Certification desirable.</p> <p>Resume and cover letter required.</p> <p>The Boys' Club of New York is an equal opportunity employer.</p>
