<p>The Advanced Imaging Technologist participates in technical duties directly involved with all modalities in which they are registered including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of the units. The Advanced Imaging Technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. All duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures. Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs MRI procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures, following established guidelines, with ingenuity and initiative as required to prepare a diagnostic examination. Assumes responsibility for designated areas and/or procedures as required or assigned. Will be required to aid other technical specialties within the department, as appropriate to competency, registration and licensure. Other duties as assigned. On call shifts required at the discretion of the Imaging Director.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Ensure all equipment is functioning properly by conducting daily Quality Assurance (QA) and American College of Radiology (ACR) QA procedures. </li><li>Maintain and manage patient data by archiving and restoring exams, ensuring patient records are accessible for future reference. </li><li>Safely inject contrast media into patients as needed for diagnostic procedures and perform IV starts in preparation for exams. </li><li>Select the appropriate MRI coil based on the patient's exam requirements and ensure the patient is positioned correctly for optimal imaging. </li><li>Efficiently use MRI scanners, Med-Pumps, and power injectors, ensuring accurate and timely imaging during the procedure. </li><li>Select the correct imaging protocol based on the patient's specific needs and ensure all procedures comply with established guidelines. </li><li>Keep patients adequately covered and reassured, ensuring comfort and dignity throughout the procedure while maintaining a professional, calming presence. </li><li>Confirm that all medical devices, such as stents, prosthetics, or clips, are MRI-compatible, ensuring patient safety during the exam. </li><li>Oversee patient flow, ensuring that procedures are completed efficiently, minimizing delay time, and maximizing productivity. </li><li>Send images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and utilize the hospital's computer system for patient management, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Allied Heath Technical Program </li></ul> <p>License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State</p> <ul> <li>General Radiographer </li><li>Nuclear Medicine Technologist </li><li>Radiation Therapy Technologist </li></ul> <p>Certification</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross And </li><li>ARRT-Radiographer Or </li><li>NMTCB- Nuclear Medicine Or </li><li>ARDMS Registered </li></ul> <p>Work Experience and Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>One (1) year of MRI experience. </li></ul>
