<p>This position is a Tax Accountant with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The position provides a range of tax services to support the church and its expatriate population in 70+ countries. The preferred candidate has an understanding of global mobility tax principles and has had exposure to a variety of tax issues in multiple jurisdictions. The position will be part of a team of experienced tax professionals working for an organization that emphasizes a good work-life balance.</p> <p>The role will primarily work on the following tasks:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and review US individual income tax returns and tax equalization calculations for outbound and inbound expatriates with minimal supervision </li><li>Coordinate with external and internal service providers to ensure that non-US tax returns and non-US payroll reporting are accurate and timely </li><li>Perform research and analysis of US tax issues </li><li>Identify and support resolution of cross border tax issues concerning treaties, shadow payroll, social security benefits, trailing liabilities, immigration, etc. </li><li>Prepare applications for totalization certificates, Individual Tax Identification Numbers, and US tax residency certificates </li><li>Communicate with the IRS and other tax authorities on behalf of clients </li><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business management or a related field. </li><li>CPA license, Enrolled Agent license, or a state bar license </li><li>Four years of individual income tax experience with a public accounting firm. </li><li>Effective written and spoken communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax issues and recommendations in a manner that is useful to individuals with varying levels of tax expertise and across geographic boundaries and cultures </li><li>Ability to be flexible with duties in order to meet deadlines </li><li>Proficient use of technology including CCH ProSystem or similar tax preparation software, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and tax research services (BNA, CCH, LexisNexis, etc.) </li><li>Ability to sit for extended periods using computer equipment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with global mobility and services provided to outbound and inbound expatriates, dual-residency individuals, and resident and nonresident aliens </li><li>Proficient Spanish language skills in a business setting </li><li>Experience with bilateral income tax treaties and totalization agreements </li><li>IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA) </li><li>Experience working for a Big 4 firm </li></ul>
