<p>Description and Functions</p> <p>Open Until Filled</p> <p>GENERAL DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>Under general supervision, provides customer service to individuals to ensure that qualifications and needs for employment and training services are met. Ensure business needs are met by developing and filling employment needs and offering and providing DWS agency information and coordinated services.</p> <p>In addition to compensation, employment at the Department of Workforce Services provides the following:</p> <ul> <li>Culture of public service and a commitment to work/life balance </li><li>Eligibility for Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness </li><li>Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance </li><li>State Retirement plan and additional savings opportunities </li><li>Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays </li><li>For additional information regarding the benefits package, please visit https://ai.wyo.gov/for-job-seekers/benefits </li></ul> <p>Human Resource Contact:kelly.gayer@wyo.gov</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.</p> <ul> <li>Provides services to individuals by coordinating and executing a broad range of individual services in accordance with Federal and State program guidelines, policies, and regulations. </li><li>Develops, manages, and monitors a caseload of participants enrolled in state and federal programs. </li><li>Confers with employers to develop and fill employment and vocational training openings. </li><li>Refers applicants to employment or other community resources. </li><li>Assesses and evaluates client skills, education, and training. </li><li>Assists, directs, and counsels claimants and job applicants. </li><li>Interviews, assesses, and evaluates customers to meet employment, training, and vocational needs. </li><li>Enters and monitors data in electronic systems for job postings, candidate file searches, and program reporting. </li><li>Assists, directs, and counsels business customers on the multitude of DWS coordinated business services, training grants, and resources. </li><li>Provides on-site visits to businesses to understand employer needs, operations, and job openings. </li><li>Organizes and participates in community events designed to connect business needs and job seekers and advance DWS services to both. </li><li>Works with Program Staff to ensure compliance with Department of Labor case management standards. </li><li>Refers applicants to employers and follows up on the hiring process. </li><li>Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers. </li><li>Provides employment services to people who may have significant barriers to employment. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Preference may be given to those with case management experience.</p> <p>Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in federal programs.</p> <p>Preference may be given to candidates with customer service experience.</p> <p>Preference may be given to candidates with experience building and maintaining relationships with community partners.</p> <p>Must have a valid driver's license.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of state and federal statutes relative to employment and Agency programs. </li><li>Knowledge of departmental policies, customer service standards, and inter-agency protocols. </li><li>Knowledge of labor market information for the State of Wyoming and the skill to obtain current employment and job resource information using various multimedia resources, particularly internet services. </li><li>Knowledge of administering and interpreting interest, skills, and proficiency tools and assessing employment issues and limitations. </li><li>Knowledge of case management practices to determine needs, create reasonable plans, and follow clients through successful program completion. </li><li>Skills in public speaking, oral, written, and electronic communication, and record-keeping. </li><li>Skills in establishing rapport with partner services and respecting established protocol with government agencies and their staff. </li><li>Skills in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. </li><li>Ability to actively listen to others to foster a positive exchange of information. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree (typically in Business or Human Services)</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Business or Human Services)</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Education & ExperienceSubstitution:</p> <p>3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business or Human Services)</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:</p> <p>None</p> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <p>PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Some travel may be required </li></ul> <p>NOTES:</p> <ul> <li>FLSA: Non-Exempt </li><li>The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) uses E-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States.
