We value the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty and staff of diverse backgrounds.</p> <p>This posting establishes a pool of candidates to fill non-tenure track lecturer positions to teach one or more pre-collegiate, undergraduate or graduate level course(s) as needed in the Department of Bioengineering, College of Engineering, Design and Computing on a part-time semester-by-semester basis for SY25/26. Courses will vary from term to term. This position is paid on a per-course basis. Assignments are dependent upon student enrollments. There are no travel and relocation expenses available.</p> <p>Lecturer</p> <p>What you will do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach one to three classes as assigned per term.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare for each class session and deliver balanced, rigorous lessons via Canvas and Zoom in accordance with prescribed curricular objectives and outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Hold weekly office hours as appropriate per course allocation.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess student progress according to curricular objectives and adhere to program policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Record attendance and grades online and be accessible for communication with students.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)</p> <p>Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.</p> <ul> <li> <p>A Master of Science degree in bioengineering or a related field is required for teaching undergraduate level courses. A combination of a bachelor's degree and 5 years of directly related experience may be substituted for the master's degree.</p> </li><li> <p>A PhD degree in bioengineering or related fields is required for teaching graduate level courses. A combination of a master's degree and 5 years of related experience may be substituted for the PhD.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)</p> <ul> <li>Candidates with research or industrial experience in a related discipline or teaching experience in a higher education environment are preferred. </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <ul> <li>Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required. </li></ul> <p>Mental, Physical, and/or Environmental Requirements</p> <ul> <li>The ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work; often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers. </li></ul> <p>Employment Sponsorship</p> <ul> <li>Please be advised that this position is not eligible now or in the future for visa sponsorship. </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $6500 - $7500 per 3 credit course; $3250 per 1 credit lab.</p> <p>The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.</p> <p>The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.</p> <p>This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.</p> <p>Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
