<p>This Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is currently initiating a search for an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer for our Denver, Colorado office. Be involved in projects with our Power Delivery Substation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <p>The Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with WSP's mission statement and culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving its goals, maintain WSP's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations including, but not limited to:</p> </li><li> <p>One-line diagrams</p> </li><li> <p>Schematics</p> </li><li> <p>Wiring diagrams</p> </li><li> <p>SCADA</p> </li><li> <p>Communications</p> </li><li> <p>Station physical layouts</p> </li><li> <p>Sections/Elevations</p> </li><li> <p>Cable and conduit plans and details</p> </li><li> <p>Ground grid design and details</p> </li><li> <p>Foundation plans and details</p> </li><li> <p>Structural plans and details</p> </li><li> <p>Control enclosure design and details</p> </li><li> <p>Lightning protection plans</p> </li><li> <p>Yard lighting plans</p> </li><li> <p>Bills of Materials</p> </li><li> <p>Site visits</p> </li><li> <p>Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients</p> </li><li> <p>Shall learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs</p> </li><li> <p>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.</p> </li><li> <p>The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.</p> </li></ul> <p>Who You Are Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option </li><li>Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on </li><li>Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel </li><li>Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship </li><li>Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. </li><li>0-1 years of experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>At least three months of relevant electrical engineering work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basis </li><li>Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) </li><li>Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation design </li><li>Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer:</p> <ul> <li>Relocation assistance is not available for this role. </li></ul> <p>WSP Benefits:</p> <p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.
