<p>Summary:</p> <p>Reports to the Medical Director and the Director of</p> <p>Operations; will provide compassionate and excellent patient care by performing</p> <p>courteous efficient and accurate service. Assists with all aspects of patient</p> <p>care including diagnosis treatments and consultations. Mentors clinical</p> <p>personnel and serves as a liaison with patients staff providers and</p> <p>leadership. Can perform independently and as part of a treatment team.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Assess plan and treat patient needs within an urgent care</p> <p>setting and triage patients to differentiate between immediate and less urgent</p> <p>care for adults and children 18 months and up.</p> <p>Effectively manage private pre-employment and workers</p> <p>compensation patients.</p> <p>Order medically indicated labs x-rays ECG?s point-of-care</p> <p>tests injections referrals and prescribe medications/treatments.</p> <p>Perform digital blocks and local anesthesia. Perform minor</p> <p>surgical procedures such as lacerations and incision and drainage.</p> <p>Consult with other Providers on medical care as necessary.</p> <p>Maintain and adequate patient flow on-site by directing and</p> <p>communicating clearly with assisting clinical staff.</p> <p>Maintain quality assurance of charts and testing.</p> <p>Handle telephone calls and follow up care about services</p> <p>rendered from patients providers company accounts as well as other clinical</p> <p>staff.</p> <p>Attend required provider/staff meetings.</p> <p>Maintain excellent and timely patient records for clinical</p> <p>use billing use Physician and peer review.</p> <p>Educate patients about preventative care and the prescribed</p> <p>treatments.</p> <p>Manage patients who do not require complex medical</p> <p>management or specialized treatment.</p> <p>Demonstrates the ability to assess plan and implement</p> <p>individual patient care appropriate to the age and specific needs of the</p> <p>patient.</p> <p>Communicates appropriately with the person served regardless</p> <p>of their age.</p> <p>Complete charting and required paperwork in a timely manner.</p> <p>Active participation in the development/review of office</p> <p>policies and procedures as well as instructional handouts</p> <p>Promotes a safety-conscious work force.</p> <p>Performs other duties as required or assigned.</p> <p>Other information:</p> <p>BASIC KNOWLEDGE:</p> <p>Nurse Practitioner: Master?s degree from an accredited</p> <p>advanced practice program; Certified Family Nurse Practitioner</p> <p>One of the following current licensures in the State of</p> <p>Rhode Island:</p> <p>? Advanced</p> <p>Practice Registered Nurse</p> <p>? Nurse</p> <p>Practitioner</p> <p>Physician Assistant:</p> <p>Bachelor?s Degree and a graduate of an accredited physician assistant</p> <p>program. Must be certified by NCCPA. Current license as a physician assistant</p> <p>in the State of Rhode Island is required.</p> <p>Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)</p> <p>Knowledge of basic emergency department internal medicine</p> <p>generalist occupational medicine and family practice procedures required.</p> <p>Organizational and analytical skills necessary to maintain</p> <p>efficient workflow.</p> <p>Ability to adjust responsibilities to accommodate a</p> <p>fast-paced work environment while maintaining excellent customer service and</p> <p>staff interactions.</p> <p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to</p> <p>effectively and courteously deal with patients and families clients</p> <p>coworkers clinical staff and physicians.</p> <p>Progressive thinking for budget training and quality</p> <p>issues.</p> <p>Strong leadership qualities.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>One year of related experience required two years</p> <p>preferred. Prior Urgent Care or</p> <p>Emergency Medicine experience preferred some medic or primary care</p> <p>acceptable. Must have experience caring</p> <p>for children ages 18 months and above.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Healthcare environment such as acute care hospital</p> <p>physicians? office and ancillary healthcare enterprises.
