In this position, you'll use your technical expertise to maintain, repair, and install a wide range of building systems, including HVACR, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. If you take pride in hands-on work, enjoy troubleshooting complex systems, and thrive in a collaborative team environment, we invite you to apply and become part of our team that keeps the campus running smoothly every day.</p> <p>Key responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain, repair, and install HVACR systems, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipment </li><li>Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair steam/hot water boilers and auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, condensate receivers, steam lines, pressure-reducing stations, air compressors, and water softeners </li><li>Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment </li><li>Conduct electrical work up to 600 VAC, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical panels, breakers, switchgear, magnetic starters, disconnects, motors, and lighting systems </li><li>Troubleshoot and repair control systems, including temperature controls, regulators, humidity controllers, sensors, pneumatic control valves, and regulators </li><li>Install and maintain plumbing systems, including cutting, threading, assembling, and installing pipes, valves, and fixtures for gas, water, and sanitation systems </li><li>Perform pipefitting and insulation work related to steam and water distribution systems </li><li>Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices while performing all duties </li><li>Ability to lift up to 60 pounds to 90 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Must participate in quarterly on-call program, carrying a pager for one week at a time. This occurs every ten to fourteen weeks. </li><li>Must be able to work overtime and/or alternate shifts when necessary for emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Experience/Education</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification(s).</p> <p>Optional Guidelines: Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in the trades areas of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing </li><li>Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently </li><li>Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards </li><li>Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with colleagues and campus partners </li></ul> <p>Required License or Certification</p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license required </li><li>NC driver's license within 60 days of hire and must be maintained </li></ul> <p>Valid NC Driver's License required Yes Commercial Driver's License Required?
