If you possess a keen interest in ensuring the precision of financial data, enjoy resolving complex financial challenges, and excel within a dynamic professional setting, you may be an ideal candidate for our Controller position. In this role, you will serve as a primary expert for all general accounting functions, encompassing the management of daily transactions and the preparation of comprehensive financial statements, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. If you are prepared to leverage your accounting expertise within a team that prioritizes a future of accuracy and efficiency, we encourage you to apply!</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, cash, and inventory, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. </li><li>Supervise and direct general ledger accounting, including opening, ongoing, and closing entries, as well as account reconciliation and analysis. </li><li>Coordinate and oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, preparing and reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. </li><li>Manage the collection of outstanding trade accounts receivable and disbursements on trade accounts payable. </li><li>Maintain systems for accounting and safeguarding inventories, property, and equipment. </li><li>Manage financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and department budget reports in accordance with GAAP. </li><li>Prepare or coordinate preparation of periodic federal, state, and foreign tax returns and supporting schedules. </li><li>Prepare year-end audit schedules, coordinate materials for external auditors, and work with auditors during fieldwork. </li><li>Ensure proper receipt of deliveries and recommend improvements to purchasing and receiving systems. </li><li>Proactively recommend and implement changes to improve department effectiveness and operational efficiencies. </li></ul> <p>Daily Life</p> <p>Imagine your day: You'll be collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, contributing to the organization's strategic goals, and providing insightful financial analysis and guidance to stakeholders from start to finish.</p> <p>What You Bring</p> <p>Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Confidentiality & Discretion: Handle sensitive information with utmost discretion and respond effectively to confidential inquiries. </li><li>Financial Accounting Expertise: Proficient in GAAP, cost accounting, inventory controls, internal control systems, and identifying/implementing accounting policies. </li><li>Budgeting & Cost Control: Skilled in financial budget preparation, administration, and implementing cost control policies. </li><li>Risk & Treasury Management: Knowledgeable in cash management, commercial property, liability, D&O, and workers' compensation insurance. </li><li>Tax & Audit Proficiency: Expertise in state and federal tax regulations, auditing techniques, and database systems for record maintenance and reporting. </li><li>Software Acumen: Highly proficient in computerized accounting/financial software, Oracle NetSuite, other enterprise ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel analysis, pivot tables, and graphics). </li><li>Financial Administration: Strong understanding of modern financial administration and records management practices. </li><li>Analytical & Interpretive Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial/business documents, federal/state/local policies, laws, and regulations. </li><li>Reporting & Communication: Prepare complex financial analyses, reports, statements, and business correspondence clearly and concisely. </li><li>Problem Solving: Define and analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, project consequences, identify solutions, and implement approved recommendations. </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. </li><li>10+ years progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years supervisory, preferably in private manufacturing/distribution. </li><li>Strong background in full-cycle financial accounting systems, U.S. GAAP, and inventory accounting/costing/controls. </li><li>Proficient in automated financial accounting/analysis software. </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <p>Perks + Benefits</p> <p>Competitive Pay/Salary - Negotiable based on experience</p> <p>Health / Dental / Vision Insurance - Eligible 1st of the month following 30 days employment</p> <p>Company 401k with match - Eligible following 90-day intro period</p> <p>Employee Discount Program - Eligible following 90-day intro period</p> <p>Paid Time Off - Eligible following 90-day intro period.
