URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City.</p> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>____</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>BASIC FUNCTION:</p> <p>Responsible for managing the departments training through the University's Learning Management System (LMS). Assist with creating training materials. Provide in person training to various university departments as needed. Manage content of departments website including policies, procedures, forms, etc. Assist in performing reconciliations and reporting requirements. Provide assistance to all accounting managers including disbursements, accounts payable, and travel and expense as well as the Purchasing Agents and Managers as applicable. Assist in the testing of University's ERP and Procure to Pay System. Assist with preparation of APRA documents for release.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Provide training to internal staff, University staff, faculty and researchers on new and existing systems, upgrades to the University's ERP system, Procure to Pay system, and any other University, State or Federal regulations, policies, or procedures.</p> <p>Develop and maintain departments training materials through the University's LMS, SharePoint and website.</p> <p>Manage content of University's Procure to Pay website. Provide support in updating departments policies, procedures, and forms as needed.</p> <p>Assist with reconciling employee cash advances and travel accounts on a monthly basis, and work with department(s) on collection of outstanding advances. Assist in Work for the Office of Sponsored Projects to reconcile research advances in a timely manner.</p> <p>Assist in testing fixes, upgrades, and in implementation of new modules within the University's ERP and P2P system. Provide testing support to end users.</p> <p>Provide backup as needed to all Accounting Managers and Purchasing Agents for all disbursement transactions including, but not limited to, student refund checks, accounts payable checks, special handling checks, and ACH payments. Assist, where needed with the review of accounts payable and expense report transactions.</p> <p>Assist with various project assignments and provide year-end support to the Procure to Pay department.</p> <p>Prepare materials for dissemination as a result of APRA/public records requests.</p> <p>Manage content for the Strategic Procurement LMS, SharePoint, and website. Manage updates and work with the Specialist for Functional Support to post updates and maintain the customer facing information.</p> <p>Perform reporting an analysis of data for Accounting and Purchasing as may be required for senior leadership, State Offices, Federal requests and auditors.</p> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Provide assistance to the staff in the Procure to Pay Office when necessary.</p> <p>Perform additional duties as required.</p> <p>LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:</p> <p>Personal computers, printers, word processing, database and spreadsheet software. Microsoft Office.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>REQUIRED:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of three years of experience as an accountant, auditor, analyst or in a Purchasing related capacity.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and related tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience with complex financial software systems (e.g. Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday).</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated training experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated presentation skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations/groups.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience working in Government, University or Not for Profit organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience working with a travel and expense reporting software program.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience auditing travel reimbursements.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to interpret institutional policies, plans, objectives, rules, and regulations and to communicate the interpretation to others.</p> </li></ol> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>The University of Rhode Island is an equal-opportunity employer committed to the principles of affirmative action.
