They will oversee the successful day-to-day maintenance of the 10+ software applications that are integral to the permitting process. More specific duties will include:</p> <ul> <li>Managing the DEP "Help Desk" email to provide timely and courteous responses to staff questions and issues with software and permitting business processes.' </li><li>Managing the daily quality control process for records being entered and updated by staff in the regions to our shared agency systems. </li><li>Providing software training and guidance to permitting staff to ensure that systems are used efficiently, effectively and that data quality standards are maintained. </li><li>Overseeing the timely publication of the weekly Environmental Notices Bulletin and the twice weekly executive reporting. </li><li>Developing efficient business processes, workflows, and documentation for business processes. </li><li>Developing requirements for new software solutions, testing new solutions, and managing bug fixes and enhancement requests for software applications. </li><li>Supervising junior staff </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications For Provisional Appointment:</p> <p>One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Business Systems Analyst 1 or a Business Systems Analyst 1 (Health).</p> <p>For Permanent Appointment:</p> <p>Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC</p> <p>Or</p> <p>Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.</p> <p>Or</p> <p>Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law.</p> <p>Or</p> <p>Eligible for Transfer Under Section 52.6 - Must have current or prior status in a title designated as 52.6 and within two salary grades of the position.</p> <p>For Non-Competitive Promotion:</p> <p>If there are no more than three individuals interested from among the interested qualified applicants, it may be possible to make a permanent appointment via non-competitive promotion.</p> <p>Additional Comments Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.</p> <p>We offer a work-life balance and a generous benefits package, worth 65% of salary, including:</p> <ul> <li>Holiday & Paid Time Off </li><li>Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) </li><li>Pension from New York State Employees' Retirement System </li><li>Shift & Geographic pay differentials </li><li>Affordable Health Care options </li><li>Family dental and vision benefits at no additional cost </li><li>NYS Deferred Compensation plan </li><li>Access to NY 529 and NY ABLE College Savings Programs, and U.S. Savings Bonds </li><li>And many more... </li></ul> <p>For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.
