<p>MESKER PARK ZOO - DUTIES</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facilities department. Buildings, systems, mobile equipment, HVAC, Plumbing, Site Utilities, Electrical. </li><li>Hiring, training and daily work assignments of the maintenance staff. </li><li>Serves as Zoo Safety Officer. </li><li>Routinely coordinates and oversees the work of outside contractors to perform work on zoo campus. </li><li>Along with the facilities coordinator is responsible for all purchasing for the facilities department. Maintenance supplies and parts, Fleet supplies and parts. </li><li>Utilizes the zoo's electronic work order and asset management software to prioritize and assign work orders including preventative maintenance. </li><li>Policies and procedures related to a preventative maintenance program and a pro-active approach to maintaining a multi-faceted campus. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Incumbent should possess a full range of practical knowledge of facilities and personnel management with at least five (5) years of maintenance or building trade experience. </li><li>Incumbent should also possess experience in a position of administration or management with supervisory responsibilities. </li><li>Ability to read and understand blueprints </li><li>Knowledge and/or ability to operate heavy machinery helpful. </li><li>Maintain a positive and professional demeanor and attitude. </li><li>Must possess a valid Driver's License. </li></ul>
