This is a part-time evening position, with shifts typically beginning around 6:00 p.m. and running as late as 11:00 p.m., depending on the location and number of games scheduled. Weekly shift availability may range from 1 to 5 evenings, depending on your availability and the needs of the various game fields and gyms.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Set up facility for sports events; </li><li>Locks and unlocks recreation facilities; </li><li>Performs field and facility inspections </li><li>Records score and times of games; </li><li>Checks scoreboard & game clock equipment before each game; </li><li>Notifies officials of any equipment problems; </li><li>Keeps hand-written log of the score of each game; </li><li>Communicates with League managers and enforces league rules; </li><li>Reports league scores and standing to Adult Sports Coordinator; </li><li>Acts as official scorekeeper; </li><li>Performs minor field/gym maintenance on a nightly basis; </li><li>Reports accidents using approved forms; </li><li>Reports to Recreation Sports Coordinator on a weekly basis; </li><li>Monitors sports rosters for illegal players; </li><li>Enforce city ordinances such as dogs on leashes & alcohol policy. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned or needed. </li></ul> <p>Job Specifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 16 years of age; </li><li>CPR and First Aid certified highly desired, but not required; </li><li>Working knowledge of the rules of softball and proper time keeping procedures; </li><li>Visual acuity to read officials hand signals. </li></ul> <p>If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!</p> <p>City of Meridian is an equal opportunity employer.
