Let's build together!</p> <p>About the Job:</p> <p>Embark on a new career journey to shape the future as a production Test Technician, where you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future. As part of a dedicated team, you'll perform tests on production units to ensure quality and identify defective parts, all while ensuring unit performance meets customer specifications. In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to define testing requirements, develop test plans, execute test cases, and analyze results to drive continuous improvements in product quality. Enhance your operational expertise and production skills by testing products that play a vital role in protecting today's military.</p> <p>Role Overview: Production Test Technician</p> <ul> <li>Perform Electrical Testing: Conduct electrical tests on production units and their components (e.g., transformers, motors, and other electrical assemblies) to ensure they meet quality and performance specifications. </li><li>Utilize Test Equipment: Use various standard electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized test instruments, to perform detailed production tests. </li><li>Set Up Test Rigs: Design, build, and lay out simple test rigs or test setups to conduct the necessary evaluations of products or components during different stages of production. </li><li>Prepare Test Reports: Accurately document and write detailed test reports based on test results, highlighting any discrepancies, failures, and suggestions for corrective actions. </li><li>Troubleshoot and Correct: Identify and troubleshoot units that do not meet test specifications. Recommend corrective measures and adjustments to bring them in line with design and operational standards. </li><li>Data Entry and Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation, including test logs, quality control records, and data entry into relevant systems or databases. </li><li>Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, streamline testing procedures, and increase production efficiency. </li><li>Mathematical Calculations: Perform necessary mathematical calculations to convert information from electrical diagrams, specifications, and design documents into functional test setups or rigs. </li><li>Flexibility and Other Duties: Be flexible in performing other duties as assigned, and potentially assist in other areas of production or testing if required, within the scope of their role and skill set. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent </li><li>Must be 18 years or older </li><li>Must be able to work full time </li><li>The following physical activities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and lift up to 40 pounds. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Educational Background: An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Electronic Technology or a minimum of 2+ years of equivalent work experience in electronics testing or related fields. </li><li>Hands-On Testing and Troubleshooting Experience: Proficiency in utilizing both analog and digital measurement equipment to test and troubleshoot DC/DC, DC/AC high and low voltage power supplies down to the component level. Experience with power electronics and converters is a plus. </li><li>Self-Starter with Collaboration Skills: Ability to work independently and effectively as a self-starter, while also collaborating with engineering staff to perform design development and product verification testing on power conversion equipment and related electronics. </li><li>Strong Test and Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent skills in electronic testing, fault detection, and troubleshooting, with the ability to identify issues at both the circuit board and component levels. </li><li>Electronics Assembly and Repair Skills: Experience with electronics assembly, soldering, and repair of electronic components is preferred, with the ability to handle basic repairs and modifications to circuitry. </li><li>Additional Desired Skills: Familiarity with test automation, test scripts, or experience in documenting test procedures and maintaining equipment logs could be beneficial. </li></ul> <p>Perks at Espey:</p> <ul> <li>Pay Rate $17 - $19.72 per hour </li><li>Four -day work week </li><li>Union Pension Plan </li><li>Medical, Dental, Vision, & Life insurance with Employee assistance program </li><li>Flexible spending account & Health savings account </li><li>Tuition reimbursement for qualified curriculum </li></ul> <p>An Equal Opportunity Employer.
