<p>General Summary</p> <p>Do you meet our minimum hiring standards?</p> <p>Check here before applying.</p> <p>The Ada County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Quartermaster who controls, accounts for, distributes, and maintains inventory of equipment and uniforms. Assists agency armorer with various weapon-related duties.</p> <p>Distinguishing Features of the Class</p> <p>Performs routine, moderately complex work under general supervision and according to pre-defined guidelines.</p> <p>BENEFITS</p> <p>Low cost medical, dental, and vision insurances</p> <p>Idaho PERSI retirement plan</p> <p>Deferred Compensation plan 457(b) with a County match of up to 3%</p> <p>Flexible Spending Accounts - Health and Dependent Care</p> <p>Post-Employment Health Plan - 50% of unused sick leave above 240 hours</p> <p>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</p> <p>No cost basic life, accidental death, and short-term disability insurances</p> <p>Eleven (11) paid holidays annually</p> <p>Paid vacation leave, sick leave, and parental leave</p> <p>No cost gym access at three (3) County owned gym facilities</p> <p>Wellness Program</p> <p>Optional 401(k) and/or Roth IRA</p> <p>Visitadacounty.id.gov/Human-Resources/Employee-Benefits to view details regarding our full benefits package.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Maintains employee uniform and equipment files; </li><li>Organizes, catalogs, and distributes equipment assigned to bureaus (e.g., tasers, radios) </li><li>Sizes uniformed personnel to ensure proper fitting of shirts, pants, jackets, hats, and other apparel; </li><li>Maintains inventory of equipment and uniform items; </li><li>Issues equipment and uniform items to employees; </li><li>Receives returned equipment and uniforms; </li><li>Communicates with agency staff and vendors to exchange technical information. </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Recommends improvements to internal purchasing policies and procedures; </li><li>Prepares or assists with purchasing documents, contracts, and requisitions to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; and </li><li>Performs related functions as required. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent;</p> </li><li> <p>Previous inventory experience preferred;</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred knowledge of:</p> </li><li> <p>Law enforcement equipment and uniforms;</p> </li><li> <p>Proper handling of weapons;</p> </li><li> <p>Basic recordkeeping practices;</p> </li><li> <p>Data processing, information storage, and retrieval techniques;</p> </li><li> <p>Computer use and standard office equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in:</p> </li><li> <p>Using computer systems to process contracts and generate reports</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations</p> </li><li> <p>Formatting and developing reports based on general guidance</p> </li><li> <p>Organizing assignments and projects</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational guidelines</p> </li><li> <p>Identifying and maximizing cost savings</p> </li><li> <p>Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining effective working relationships</p> </li></ul> <p>OTHER REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Must submit a one-page letter of interest detailing your interest in the position and qualifications; </li><li>Must participate in an oral board interview; </li><li>Must stay current on industry trends for frequently purchased products and services; </li><li>Must stay informed on evolving best practices in procurement policies and procedures; </li><li>This position is designated as safety-sensitive; the incumbent is subject to random drug testing. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment & Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Work is primarily performed in an office setting but may include occasional work in a warehouse environment; </li><li>May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.; </li><li>Requires sufficient mobility and physical reflexes to perform tasks in an office setting. </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the primary job responsibilities satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
