Unlock your potential!</p> <p>Job Summary and Qualifications</p> <p>As a Scheduling Coordinator, you will be responsible for the scheduling of patient procedures to be performed, obtaining complete and accurate patient demographics and procedure information from the patient and/or the physician's office. The Scheduler is responsible for the understanding of patient scheduling, procedure knowledge, and report writing. The Scheduler will be responsible for QA and auditing information for accuracy, knowledge of medical and insurance terminology. The Scheduler will interact with Business Services customers, which will require basic telephone, excellent communications, public relations, and documentation skills. The Scheduler is responsible for organizational and problem-solving abilities including working knowledge of hospital resources and functions for problem solving.</p> <ul> <li> <p>You will be responsible for completing form letters, making patient packets, callbacks and follow up with patients that the physician's office request that we contact to schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>You will possess a working knowledge of all departments and their terminology.</p> </li><li> <p>You will understand the relationship of insurance policies and procedures performed.</p> </li><li> <p>You will use various computer system, central scheduling system and office equipment to include but not be limited to: a. CPCS, PAS computer systems b. Microsoft Outlook c. Microsoft Word d. Microsoft Excel e. Fax machine and electronic fax system f. Various telephone systems g. Printers h. Scanners and/or copiers</p> </li><li> <p>You will answer the telephone and schedules/reschedule/edit procedures per physician and/or patient request.</p> </li><li> <p>You will communicate with ancillary departments to facilitate scheduling walk in or work in or add-on patients.</p> </li><li> <p>You will update resources in the scheduling dictionary according to requests of ancillary departments, via the Core Team.</p> </li><li> <p>You will obtain proper orders according to HIM Policy.</p> </li><li> <p>You will follow up with physician's office and ancillary departments' complaints or problems.</p> </li><li> <p>You will attend service presentations, staff meetings, and completes mandatory education week, including but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA standards.</p> </li><li> <p>You will demonstrate knowledge of occurrence (event report) reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patients safety issues.</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum of three years of scheduling experience in a hospital or clinic setting with OR/Surgery and/or Radiology experience</p> </li><li> <p>High school diploma or GED equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge Medical Terminology</p> </li><li> <p>Computer skills with Microsoft Programs</p> </li></ul> <p>St. Davids South Austin Medical Center, which is part of St. Davids HealthCare.
