<p>SALARY</p> <p>The minimum salary is $16.587 per hour</p> <p>This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.</p> <p>Pay Grade 510</p> <p>This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the required first six (6) months of employment.</p> <p>FILING DEADLINE DATE</p> <p>The deadline to apply is Monday, May 4, 2026</p> <p>GENERAL DESCRIPTION</p> <p>The purpose of this classification is to perform manual labor in relation to the installation, maintenance, and removal of pavement markings on city streets, parking lots, and public rights-of-way through a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties involving traffic control layout, operation of striping equipment, and general roadway maintenance tasks.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma, GED, or equivalent </li><li>Two (2) years of related experience </li><li>Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the layout, preparation, and application of roadway markings including centerlines, crosswalks, arrows, stop bars, and bike lanes using paint, thermoplastic, and preformed tape </li><li>Operates or assists with operation of striping trucks, walk-behind applicators, blowers, grinders, and hand tools </li><li>Sets up and breaks down stencils and marking templates as required </li><li>Loads and unloads materials and equipment from trucks </li><li>Assists with setup of traffic control measures such as signs, cones, barricades, and flagging to ensure a safe work zone </li><li>Cleans, maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on pavement marking equipment and hand tools </li><li>Performs general street maintenance tasks including debris removal, patching and surface preparation </li><li>Responds to emergency weather or roadway events including after-hours call-outs, as needed </li><li>Performs related work as assigned </li></ul> <p>SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION</p> <p>All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.</p> <ul> <li>Valid Driver's License </li><li>Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B and Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles within the first six (6) months of employment </li></ul> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16. </li><li>Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies. </li><li>Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies. </li></ul> <p>HOW TO APPLY</p> <p>Submit LFUCG electronic application through lexingtonky.gov/jobs and attach/upload applicable documents to verify your education, training, certification/license(s), or DD214 (for military preference with appropriate discharge) by filing deadline date.</p> <p>RESUMES CANNOT BE SUBSTITUTED FOR THE APPLICATION, but are highly encouraged to be attached/uploaded to the application.</p> <p>Please note that the section titled "Application Questionnaire" has to be completed every time a new or revised application is submitted.
