<p>Position is funded in part through federal funds.</p> <p>The primary purpose of this position is to provide casework support to Rehabilitation Counselors in the Raleigh Unit office. The major duties include support for general physical and intellectual disabilities caseloads as well as providing support in all aspects of office needs. The position requires a wide range of knowledge regarding community resources and local employers as well as the ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.</p> <p>Job responsibilities include the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Process authorizations as directed and record invoices, file documents, follow up with vendors, and prepare routine and ad hoc reports as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as receptionist for the office, which requires daily contact with the public and answering the telephone</p> </li><li> <p>Be one of the point of contacts for clients/potential clients and maintain knowledge of the services not only of DVR but other public agencies</p> </li><li> <p>Interact with clients to obtain information at referral for the purpose of completing the initial application and/or providing services during the rehabilitation process</p> </li><li> <p>Gather and compile additional information as identified by the counselor to aid in providing sufficient information for the Counselors' assessment and eligibility determination</p> </li><li> <p>Make follow-up phone calls to customers to remind of scheduled appointments & process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail</p> </li><li> <p>Operate various office equipment - personal computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. </p> <p>The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge or experience working with a team</p> </li><li> <p>Experience performing routine office support functions</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with the public</p> </li></ul> <p>Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience."
