<p>Summary:</p> <p>The Mammography Technologist I performs screening and diagnostic mammography procedures under the direction of a Radiologist and Facility Manager, following established ACR, FDA, and departmental protocols. This position applies foundational mammography skills to produce high-quality 2D and 3D breast imaging for diagnostic interpretation. The technologist is responsible for appropriate patient positioning, radiation safety, equipment operation, and accurate documentation. The Mammography Technologist I works with supervision in complex situations but is able to independently perform basic procedures, provide compassionate patient care, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. The role supports daily workflow, assists with quality control tasks, and contributes to a safe and patient-focused imaging environment.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Performs routine mammography procedures following established protocols. </li><li>Confirms exam orders match the requested procedure and documents relevant symptoms or indications. </li><li>Positions and immobilizes patients using proper technique to obtain consistent, diagnostic breast images. </li><li>Adjusts exposure factors, utilizes 2D/3D imaging capabilities, and ensures proper equipment setup. </li><li>Reviews images for positioning, clarity, and completeness; repeats images as necessary. </li><li>Applies radiation protection techniques, adheres to regulatory standards (ACR, FDA, MQSA), and maintains a safe environment. </li><li>Ensures correct exam labeling, updates billing/exam titles when necessary, and prepares prior studies for radiologist review. </li><li>Explains procedures, answers questions, and helps reduce patient anxiety during imaging. </li><li>Performs routine QC tasks, reports equipment issues, and maintains appropriate supply levels. </li><li>Maintains accurate documentation in the EMR/RIS/PACS systems. </li><li>Maintains clean exam rooms, assists colleagues as needed, and completes other assigned tasks to support workflow. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications / Education / Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of a 2-year radiologic technology program from an accredited school. </li><li>Current and valid Florida State License (CRT) </li><li>Current and valid Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry </li><li>Basic Life Support BLS through the American Heart Association (CPR) </li></ul>
