<p>Position: Philanthropy Officer</p> <p>Department: Divinity</p> <p>Status: Full Time</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Under the direction and guidance of the Executive Director, the Philanthropy Officer is an integral part of the Divinity School's Center for Calling and Ministry. In fulfilling this role and its related responsibilities, the Philanthropy Officer assists the Divinity School in achieving the fundraising goals and objectives of the Lilly Endowment Cultures of Calling grant initiative.</p> <p>The Philanthropy Officer will serve as a frontline fundraiser, working closely with Divinity School Leadership and University Advancement Leadership. The Officer possesses a track record of fundraising accomplishments, constituent relations, and a demonstrated capacity to work within a team environment.</p> <p>The Philanthropy Officer will be deeply committed to the Cultures of Calling initiative and will be able to exercise discretion, initiative, and independent judgment in promoting its success. This position is tied to grant funding and is not guaranteed to continue past the ending of the grant.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan to establish a sustainable endowment that ensures long-term support for the Center for Calling and Ministry.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure charitable gifts of at least $25,000 for the Center for Calling and Ministry on a regular basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage fundraising campaign activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare donor communications and reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare communications for various constituencies related to the Center's endowment.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with the Executive Director of the Center for Calling & Ministry and the Vice President of Institutional Advancement on a consistent basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the University Advancement Office and attend team meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in fundraising efforts across the spectrum of the Divinity School.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.</p> </li><li> <p>Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal mandates.</p> </li><li> <p>Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.</p> </li><li> <p>This position is eligible for partial remote work. The Philanthropy Officer and the Executive Director will negotiate a Remote Work Addendum that provides specific details of any remote work arrangement.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree required</p> </li><li> <p>3-5 years of higher education, nonprofit, ministry or related experience in the areas of fundraising, donor stewardship, and prospect cultivation</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Self-motivated and self-starting; goal-oriented</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences through both oral and written channels</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality</p> </li><li> <p>Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with Ellucian CRM Advance and web-based applications preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and common methods of digital communication such as web conferencing, web/text chat</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with donors, alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, students, and the public</p> </li><li> <p>Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.</p> </li><li> <p>Exercise good judgment in complex and/or new situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours; including overnight stays</p> </li><li> <p>This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University</p> </li></ul>
