<p>Job Title: Part Time Financial Planning Instructor Job Description Summary:</p> <p>Part-time, temporary instructor position to teach on an ongoing, as-needed basis. We are seeking qualified professionals with current industry knowledge and/or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas of financial planning: Risk Management and Insurance, Income Tax Planning, Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, and Investments.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and update course syllabi in consultation with the PACE Program Director, using the approved syllabus template and ensuring alignment with program competencies and learning objectives. </li><li>Prepare and deliver online, evening course content in the assigned instructional format, including lectures, learning activities, and assessments. </li><li>Communicate clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes to students, including detailed grading policies, expectations, and course requirements in alignment with CFP Board standards. </li><li>Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes through assignments, examinations, and other assessments, and assign grades in accordance with program standards. </li><li>Respond to student inquiries, including questions related to final grades, and consult with the Program Director as needed. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of professional practices, industry standards, and emerging trends in personal financial planning. </li><li>Participate in required orientations, meetings and complete mandatory training programs by PACE established deadlines. </li><li>Employ culturally competent and inclusive teaching strategies that support engagement, belonging, and success for both domestic and international students. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Financial Planner, CFP </li><li>Minimum of five years of professional experience in the field of financial planning. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants:</p> <p>Candidates should possess</p> <ul> <li>Current knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in the relevant subject matter. </li><li>Commitment to the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity. </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex and conceptual information clearly and effectively. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. </li><li>Proficiency with or willingness to learn instructional technology and online teaching tools. </li><li>Active engagement in professional associations within the financial planning field. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with international professionals and students, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity. </li></ul> <p>Oakland University Standard Language</p> <p>Oakland University is a nationally recognized doctoral university of high research activity located on 1,443 acres of scenic land in the cities of Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills in Oakland County, Michigan.
