<p>Prep Cook/Dishwasher/Server</p> <p>This part-time position works 25-29 hours per week. They perform any and all necessary job functions within the front and back of the house sanitation operations and assist with prep and service work as assigned. This position requires someone who is interested in meeting the needs of the team and includes serving students, food prep, washing service ware, washing and maintaining equipment and washing pots and pans.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers </li><li>Excellent sanitation standards </li><li>1 year experience in a commercial kitchen </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Set up and stock stations with all tools, products, and supplies necessary to prepare menu items with the team on the line </li><li>Follow the prep list, recipes, and in-service instructions as provided by Chef and Kitchen Manager </li><li>Ensure dishes are prepared in a timely, efficient manner upholding standards related to presentation and quality </li><li>Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine </li><li>Sort and stack clean dishes </li><li>Carries clean dishes to the cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering </li><li>Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand </li><li>Remove trash bags and dispose in the dumpster </li><li>Set up or break down the dishwashing area </li><li>Clean and roll/unroll mats. </li><li>Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions. </li><li>Executes basic prep work as assigned </li><li>Sweep/mop floors. </li><li>Sweep up trash around the exterior of the kitchen and garbage dumpster. </li><li>Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and safe </li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, & other staff </li><li>Other duties as directed </li><li>Maintains sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen/dish area </li><li>Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices in line with ServSafe guidelines </li><li>Participates in service during meal periods </li></ul> <p>Physical requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils </li><li>Frequent reaching, walking, bending, stooping, grasping and pinching, pushing, lifting and carrying, squatting, twisting, or kneeling. </li><li>Must be able to work extended hours on feet </li><li>Lift and carry food containers weighing up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Lift and empty trashcans weighing up to 100 lbs. with assistance. </li><li>Work in a hot, damp environment. </li><li>Frequent washing of hands. </li><li>Sanitation awareness and practice to minimize cross-contamination. </li></ul> <p>Other Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom </li><li>Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player </li><li>Eagerness for feedback </li><li>Desire to grow professionally </li><li>Deeply rooted belief that children are capable of reaching the highest bars we set for them </li><li>A background check is required once an offer is made </li></ul> <p>Adelante Schools believes in the importance of being a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization that enables our students and staff to thrive.
