<p>Department</p> <p>Florida State University Schools</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coaching the Cheer team and Spirit club athletes at Florida High School </li><li>Conditioning athletes during the off season </li><li>Monitor individual grades </li><li>Establish effective communication between the athlete, coaches, parents, administration, and media. </li><li>Assist all athletes in recruiting for intercollegiate cheer programs </li><li>Manage, plan, promote, setup and oversee volunteers for home competitions and fund raisers. </li><li>Assign staff and positions based on supplements provided for each coach, per collective bargaining. </li><li>Planning of awards and presentations to celebrate the success of athletes, coaches, etc </li><li>Transportation to and from games and competitions will be created and scheduled by the head coach, within the policies of FSUS. </li><li>Develop fundamental development of cognitive and skill based movement patterns and concepts. </li><li>Responsible for the scheduling of competition for interscholastic competition (middle, JV, and Varsity levels through fhsaahome.org) that will sanction competitons between schools and officials. </li><li>Report scores and statistics that involves the program to all local media, promote within the school, and administration. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent </li><li>Valid State of Florida Coaching Certificate (or ability to obtain prior to start of season) </li><li>Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Concussion in Sports, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest (required prior to season) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with children and young adults in an educational or athletic setting </li><li>Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills </li><li>College coursework or degree in Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management or related field </li></ul> <p>Helpful</p> <p>We proudly serve as a laboratory K-12 school, blending the rigors of academic achievement with a commitment to educational research and innovation.
