Work gets done in a non-hierarchical, hard-working and fun environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities & Duties</p> <p>As a VP, FP&A at Redwood Trust, you will play a critical role of ensuring that the company is able to plan for growth, execute on and track performance vs. budget, and make informed decisions backed by financial and strategic analysis. You will lead key elements of the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles, and will contribute to the preparation of presentations for the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership. You will help Redwood Trust achieve its quarterly, annual, and long-term goals by crafting short and long-term financial/operational reports, analyses, and strategies.</p> <ul> <li>Build quarterly Board Decks, ad hoc presentations, and partner on strategic projects. </li><li>Oversee the financial planning system (Anaplan). </li><li>Maintain the company's operating model, partner across the organization to provide forward-looking analysis to support business decisions and analyze capital allocation decisions. </li><li>Oversee and review in-depth analysis, modeling, monthly/quarterly/annual forecasting and reporting of financial and business performance to support company-wide financial and operational goals, initiatives and objectives. </li><li>Partner with business leaders to ensure linkage between ongoing operational, planning, and strategic activities. </li><li>Collaborate effectively with FP&A team and other internal partners to drive deliverables. </li><li>Perform ad-hoc/deep-dive analysis in support of management decision making. </li><li>Lead month-end and quarter-end close and reporting responsibilities. </li><li>Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. </li><li>Create presentations and reports for business leaders to support their respective lines of business. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience & Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field, required </li><li>Master's degree or advanced certification (i.e. CFA or CPA), preferred </li><li>7-10 years of industry experience with budgeting / planning, financial modeling, and decision analytics (e.g. FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity) </li><li>Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications. Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel is required. </li><li>Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills </li><li>Detail oriented, self-starter who can effectively lead a team and work closely with senior leaders </li><li>Must demonstrate knowledge of finance concepts and processes. </li><li>Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management </li><li>Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis </li><li>Ability to source and work with large amounts of data from different data sources </li><li>Ability to work independently and within a team in both tactical and strategic capacities </li><li>Understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes </li><li>Solid analytical and modeling skills </li><li>Ability to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Experience with Anaplan, or similar cloud-based ERP system preferred </li><li>Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and recommend solutions </li><li>Ability to apply high-level analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills to different financial scenarios and make recommendations on outcomes </li></ul> <p>A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $150,000-$196,000. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
