<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Security/Full-Time Security Officer PCEP - PCCS</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>7/17/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>SALEM HIGH SCHOOL</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Plymouth-Canton Community Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>POSITION: Full Time Security Officer</p> <p>Plymouth Canton Educational Park (Salem High School)</p> <p>Monday - Friday - 6:30 am - 2:30 pm (42 Week)</p> <p>JOB GOAL: Provides security support for all students, staff, and property.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent. Must provide proof of graduation or GED. Education beyond high school is preferred. </li><li>Demonstrate professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills, including communicating effectively and successfully interacting with students, staff and the public using patience, courtesy, and tact. </li><li>The ability to recognize and discern various emotional states when dealing with the public and respond in a professional manner. </li><li>Possess a valid driver's license. </li><li>Possess or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certificate and complete Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training. </li><li>We seek candidates with excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to make good decisions under pressure and during emergencies, and the ability to interact with a diverse public. </li><li>Be able to pass a background investigation. </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. </li><li>Conducts patrols of campus, inspects doors, windows and gates to determine that all are secure. </li><li>Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, and/or calls police for assistance, according to the emergency action plan. </li><li>Patrols school grounds to detect and identify unauthorized persons and vehicles; checks vehicles for parking authorization; detect and identify vehicles parked in restricted areas. </li><li>Writes security reports. </li><li>Records security violations. </li><li>Requires bending, lifting, and overhead work. </li><li>Performs other duties as directed. </li></ul> <p>This description is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
