<p>Succeed in School is an after-school program approved by the Church Board of Education that helps youth progress academically, prepare for higher education, and become self-reliant disciples of Jesus Christ. Succeed in School serves 30,000 students and is approved in 30 countries, with upcoming growth in Latin America. Succeed in School also increases the reach and impact of Seminary and prepares youth for BYU-Pathway Worldwide. The Succeed in School area manager oversees the program's implementation, operations, support, and evaluation in a particular area or region and contributes to the larger team's needs and assignments. This position is based in Utah. Regular travel to Latin America will be expected, depending on program needs.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Lead and manage SIS operations for assigned areas. This includes training and communication with S&I employees and other department area leaders, program reporting, curriculum recommendations to meet local needs, and general oversight of program effectiveness.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with area presidencies and other area leaders to understand youth educational needs and to ensure the Succeed in School program can be implemented to fulfill area goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Train S&I area employees as they train called stake education supervisors and teachers, as part of the implementation process to help them understand and accomplish their SIS responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Correspond regularly (via verbal and written exchanges) with area-level leadership regarding SIS initiatives' strategic direction and operational status.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with area employees within other departments, such as BYU-Pathway Worldwide, Welfare and Self-Reliance, and the Missionary department, to collaborate on education-related initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Public speaking in various settings, including leading small groups, discussions, and fielding questions in large and small-group settings.</p> </li><li> <p>Work on general Succeed in School team assignments, including specific roles and responsibilities as needed (e.g., writing, reviewing curriculum, research, developing products, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in education or higher in business, law, instructional design, education administration, online education, or related field (Master's or higher preferred).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in Latin America is strongly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Eight-plus years of recognized experience. Preferred experience includes the following: multi-national education, International relations or operations, partnering with educational or business organizations to provide innovative or alternative means of education</p> </li><li> <p>Management or supervisory experience directly managing employees or in product or project management.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in program, product, and project management or related skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to analyze, simplify, and present complex information to a variety of audiences.</p> </li></ol>
