<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Full-Time Faculty - Electrical Engineering (Open Rank - Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor)</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Engineering</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Education</p> <p>POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, MCCC unit position with benefits.</p> <p>LOCATION: Courses may be offered in online, hybrid, or face-to-face modalities in Fall River,</p> <p>Attleboro, New Bedford, and/or Taunton.</p> <p>STARTING DATE: Academic Year 2027 (Fall Semester, 2026)</p> <p>SALARY: $57,289 - $74,369 - actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and</p> <p>consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.</p> <p>STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The FT Faculty: Electrical Engineering position is a tenure-rack position that will teach a full-time (15 credit hours per semester) schedule of Electrical Engineering (circuits, power, controls, signal processing, etc.) and potentially electronics (analog/digital electronics, microcontrollers, PCB design, etc.) courses. The list of courses will include, but are not limited to, the list found online in our Academic Catalog (https://catalog.bristolcc.edu/engineeringtechnology/electrical). This position also develops curriculum/course material for the Associate in Science in Engineering Technology (Electrical) Program and offers student support through varied interactions. As part of our strategic goal to advance equity for underrepresented student populations, Bristol embraces and encourages the use of social justice, inclusive, and anti-racist pedagogies, and multicultural curricular initiatives. Full-Time faculty will engage in a critical role in the teaching and learning process, contributing to student learning outcomes and success.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Teach a full-time (15 credit hours per semester) schedule of courses in the Engineering Department. </li><li>Facilitate hands-on laboratory experiences with students. </li><li>Develop and revise Electrical Engineering curriculum to align with employer demand, transfer institutions, and industry standards. </li><li>Support the development of certificates, micro credentials, and experiential learning opportunities. </li><li>Work with regional employers, workforce boards, and transfer institutions to ensure program relevance. </li><li>Assist with grant writing, administration, and reporting to support innovation and student opportunities. </li><li>Assess student learning and assign grades through equitable and inclusive pedagogies and assessment strategies. </li><li>Complete required trainings such as, but not limited to, Title IX, FERPA, and Information Security. </li><li>Teach in face-to-face as well as hybrid, and online modalities. </li><li>Adhere to workload as specified in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including duties such as, but not limited to, developing curricula to address course and student learning outcomes and General Education competencies as appropriate, completing book orders, creating syllabi, verifying student enrollment, and submitting final grades by the contractual deadline. Foster student success across the college's diverse student body, and address equity gaps, through innovative teaching and learning approaches as well as curriculum development. Incorporate High-Impact Practices (HIPs) into curricular and pedagogical approaches, with emphasis on HIPs that provide students with real-world experiences such as Service-Learning and internship opportunities. </li><li>Serve as academic advisor to assigned students. </li><li>Post and maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours per week. </li><li>Develop appropriate discipline-related courses. </li><li>Serve on college committees as elected or appointed. </li><li>Attend program, department, academic area, all-college and committee/council meetings. </li><li>Recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, and library acquisitions. </li><li>Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes. </li><li>Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues, to teach online as needed, and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate. </li><li>Engage in professional development activities through participation in conferences, workshops, seminars, and professional associations to maintain excellence in the discipline and in the classroom. </li><li>Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community. </li><li>Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions. </li><li>Actively participate in the general college community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.</p> <p>Must include the following:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of two years of teaching experience in credit-bearing courses at the college level or equivalent industrial experience in a related field to the position. </li><li>Substantial experience using Engineering software. </li><li>Proven technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office 365 applications. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of teaching engineering design. </li><li>Leadership experience in areas such as: competency-based assessment, teaching underprepared students, workforce development. </li><li>Demonstrated interest in working with academic, industry, and/or community partners. </li><li>Experience writing grant proposals. </li><li>Experience creating and/or directing an academic program or project. </li><li>Experience using High Impact Practices. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency with Canvas or another Learning Management System. </li><li>Demonstrated experience developing and teaching curricula in asynchronous online and hybrid formats that incorporate universal design principles. </li><li>Experience in community college teaching, advising, and/or curriculum development. </li><li>Demonstrated versatility in teaching a range of courses offered in Electrical Engineering and/or Electronics. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to closing equity gaps. </li><li>Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action:</p> <p>Bristol Community College is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, age, veteran or military status, genetic information, gender identity, or sexual orientation in its programs and activities as required by Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, TitleVII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other applicable statutes and college policies.
