<p>PRIMARY PURPOSE:</p> <p>Recovery Technician I: Recovers tissue for transplant as an on-call, per diem member of the Tissue Recovery Team.</p> <p>Recovery Technician II: Performs Recovery Technician I plus also facilitate a recovery team as a circulator to maximize the gift for the recovery of tissue for transplant as an on-call, per diem member of the Tissue Recovery Team.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>Recovery Technician I:</p> <ul> <li>Surgically recovers tissue according to company and regulatory standards and documents recovery activities as needed. </li><li>Maintains all recovery instruments and equipment. </li><li>Prepares and packs recovery instruments, equipment and supplies in preparation for recovery activities. </li><li>Works with full-time staff to ensure adequate supply inventory, and promptly communicates deficiencies. </li><li>Attends required training and monthly meetings as directed. </li><li>Trains recovery personnel. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Recovery Technician II: (performs all Recovery Technician I duties)</p> <ul> <li>Circulates and participates in surgical recovery of tissue according to company and regulatory standards. </li><li>Enters recovered tissue into CTMS database </li><li>Ships recovered tissue for processing. </li><li>Maintains all recovery instruments and equipment. </li></ul> <p>Note: This is a part-time, per diem position and as such there is no guarantee on the number of cases to be assigned or the amount of income to be earned.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent combined with recent relevant medical experience. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to meet minimum on-call requirements, including weekends and holidays. </li><li>Overnight travel may be required, including flights on commercial aircraft. </li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license and be considered insurable by Solvita insurance provider. </li><li>Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and greater than 50 pounds with assistance. </li><li>Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation. </li></ul> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree. </li><li>Knowledge of gross anatomy and sterile technique. </li><li>Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS). </li><li>Experience or training in surgical technology/operating room procedures, allied health, medical, technical or mortuary field. </li></ul>
