We are an equal opportunity employer; no information obtained during the recruitment/selection process is intended for any discriminatory purposes.</p> <p>Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule</p> <p>Grade: 104</p> <p>Salary: $9.53 Hourly</p> <p>Department: Parks and Recreation - Recreation Centers</p> <p>E-mail: TraceyL@cctexas.com</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:</p> <p>Non-rotating 25 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Group Leader assists with the development of the after school and summer programs. Provides leadership for children participating in after school and summer programs to ensure a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child development.</p> <ul> <li>Lead and ensure the safety of children ages 6 to 16 and address any concerns expressed by the children. Continuously redirect children to limit any possible disciplinary issues. </li><li>Write incident reports and discipline referrals as needed. Assist Senior Group Leader with preparing bank deposits. </li><li>Instruct and lead children in various recreational games and activities. Assist Senior Group Leader with weekly and monthly special events for children. </li><li>Deliver daily deposits to financial institution as needed. </li><li>Ensure that there is constant communication with custodial and administrative staff when issues arise, communicate daily with parents and guardians while providing excellent customer service. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>No prior experience required </li><li>CPR and First Aid Certified must be obtained before job assignment </li><li>A valid Texas driver's license is preferred at time of hire </li></ul> <p>Basis of Rating</p> <p>Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.</p> <p>Closing Statement</p> <p>Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.</p> <p>Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.</p> <p>In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.</p> <p>This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".
