The Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 165 physicians, 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers and 40 locations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.</p> <p>What you'll do:</p> <p>Performs and processes medical digital images, position patients for exams, transports patients, and provides other routine assistance to radiology staff in the surgical center by performing the following duties.</p> <p>Responsibilities/Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Effectively performs radiographic services by operating imaging equipment correctly based on the required procedure</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply principles of radiation protection.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimizes radiation exposure by applying principles of radiation protection to patients, self and others.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible to ensure proper shield is maintained where applicable.</p> </li><li> <p>Take responsibility for managing radiation badge program. Sends badges out when needed and post results for staff to see.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in pain management procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare procedure room, including preparation of supplies, and setting up trays.</p> </li><li> <p>Practices Aseptic Technique as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates leadership skills in the provision of patient care services.</p> </li><li> <p>Acts as assistant to the physician and appropriate personnel during procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively participates in orientation of other Surgical Center personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Transport patients as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Adheres to Safety Standards and Guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows and uses Personal Protective equipment as dictated by policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Disposes of medical waste in proper containers and practices proper disposal of sharps.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports unsafe conditions to management.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates use of proper body mechanics.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows hand hygiene practices and Standard precautions.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows Surgical Center policies and procedures.</p> </li></ul>
