<p>Description:</p> <p>Upstate Community Medical, PC is seeking an experienced and motivated OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to join our inpatient obstetrics and gynecology team at Upstate Community Hospital. The hospital is part of Upstate University Hospital (UUH), a large academic hospital in Syracuse, NY. This position offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered inpatient care while collaborating closely with residents, advanced practice providers (Certified Nurse Midwives, PAs and NPs), nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams.</p> <p>This hospital-based position focuses on the management of labor and delivery, obstetrical triage, postpartum care, and inpatient gynecologic care, with an emphasis on safety, teamwork, and evidence-based medicine.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct inpatient obstetric care, including management of labor, deliveries, and postpartum care. </li><li>Manage obstetrical triage evaluations and admissions. </li><li>Perform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and also obstetric procedures, as needed. </li><li>Respond to obstetrical emergencies. </li><li>Provide inpatient gynecological consultations and care. </li><li>Collaborate with OBGYN providers, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care. </li><li>Educate and counsel patients regarding women's health, contraception, pregnancy and wellness. </li><li>Promote a culture of safety through communication with all team members. </li><li>Document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in EPIC. </li><li>Serves as a clinical resource and mentor for residents, students and nursing staff and supports the academic mission of UUH. </li></ul> <p>Position Highlights</p> <ul> <li>Join a growing team of OBGYN Hospitalist and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) providing 24/7 inpatient coverage. </li><li>Work schedule of eight (8) 24-hours shifts per month. </li><li>Support from our affiliated neonatology team with 24/7 support from inhouse neonatology APPs. </li><li>Upstate Community Hospital hold two prestigious designations that include Baby Friendly and Magnet Nursing Accreditation. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MD or DO </li><li>Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology </li><li>NYS license </li><li>Current OBGYN experience required </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary based on experience with a signing bonus and annual increases </li><li>401(k) with employer match and no vesting period </li><li>Comprehensive benefit program including health, dental, vision, life and disability coverage </li><li>Annual CME Allowance </li><li>Malpractice paid in full </li><li>NYS License & DEA reimbursement reimbursed in full </li></ul>
