This role offers a unique opportunity to train and inspire the next generation of animal science professionals by fostering a strong work ethic and helping students master technical and professional skills. The ideal candidate will prepare students for success through hands-on instruction, attainment of industry certifications, dual credit opportunities, and real-world application of knowledge.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Must hold a valid CTE teaching license certified by the Indiana Department of Education for Agriculture: Any Agribusiness License 9 - 12, Any Standard Agriculture License 9 -12, or be eligible for a Workplace Specialist: Agribusiness 9 -12. Eligibility is defined as holding or being eligible for a Workplace Specialist (WS) license by having over 4000-6000 of documented hours (2-3 years) in the field in the last five years.</p> <p>? Must be willing to become dual credit credentialed through a state post-secondary institution.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Core Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>?Deliver engaging and standards-aligned instruction in animal science in both classroom and lab environments</p> <p>?Promote student success in obtaining industry-recognized certifications and dual credit</p> <p>?Develop and maintain student records, certification documentation, and training reports</p> <p>?Establish a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment</p> <p>?Maintain and inventory tools, equipment, and instructional technology</p> <p>?Support student leadership by sponsoring or co-sponsoring the Animal Science CTSO (FFA)</p> <p>?Collaborate with other CTE instructors and participate in cross-pathway projects</p> <p>?Organize and lead the Animal Science Advisory Board, strengthening industry and community partnerships</p> <p>?Communicate regularly with students, families, and school staff regarding academic progress, behavior, and attendance</p> <p>?Follow all school and district policies and procedures</p> <p>?Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Career Academy Coordinator</p> <p>"Day In the Life" Overview</p> <p>On a regular day, as the Animal Sciences instructor, you might:</p> <p>?Support student success by fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that emphasizes academic growth, technical skill development, and career readiness</p> <p>?Design and implement hands-on labs aligned to Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) standards that inspire curiosity and build mastery of animal science competencies</p> <p>?Collaborate with industry partners to co-create career-connected learning experiences such as field trips, guest speakers, internships, and project-based learning aligned with workforce demands</p> <p>?Facilitate dual credit and credentialing opportunities that prepare students for postsecondary success</p> <p>?Coach and mentor students as they participate in student leadership and competitive events through FFA and other CTSO activities</p> <p>Continuously improve your instruction through professional development and collaboration</p> <p>WHAT YOU'll BRING: SKILLS AND MINDSETS</p> <p>As an ideal candidate for this role, you will be able to achieve the following:</p> <p>?Experience teaching in a high school or technical school setting (preferred)</p> <p>?Willingness to obtain dual credit credentialing through Ivy Tech or Vincennes University</p> <p>?Strong technical skills and a desire for continued professional development</p> <p>?Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and strong interpersonal relationships</p> <p>?Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom</p> <p>?Excellent written communication and organizational skills</p> <p>?Dependability, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit</p> <p>?A passion for student success and career readiness</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.</p> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.</p> <p>REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.</p> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must hold a valid Indiana State Teacher's License in Elementary Education (K-6).
