<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>University of Missouri - Kansas City</p> <p>School of Nursing and Health Studies - Division of Nursing Clinical Practice</p> <p>For more information regarding the School of Nursing and Health Studies, visit: https://sonhs.umkc.edu/</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Nursing and Health Studies seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach in our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) clinical programs. This part-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the education of advanced practice nurses in a dynamic, evidence-based learning environment. The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses in the accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) curriculum and may supervise clinical experiences.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned graduate-level NP courses, which may include online, hybrid, or in-person modalities </li><li>Supervise and evaluate nurse practitioner students in clinical settings as appropriate to the appointment </li><li>Maintain effective and timely communication with students, faculty, and clinical partners </li><li>Adhere to course objectives and curricular frameworks aligned with the AACN Essentials and NTF Standards </li><li>Participate in orientation, training, and ongoing professional development activities as requested </li><li>Support continuous program evaluation and improvement processes, including accreditation compliance (CCNE) </li><li>Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment consistent with the mission and values of UMKC and the School of Nursing and Health Studies </li></ul> <p>This position is part-time and non-benefit eligible. Days and hours will vary depending on the opportunity available</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution is required for all MSN level course offerings. A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), PhD, or other terminal degree from an accredited institution is required for all DNP level course offerings. </li><li>Current, unencumbered RN license and APRN licensure/certification in the state of Missouri </li><li>National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in relevant specialty area (e.g., FNP, NNP, PMHNP) </li><li>Minimum of five years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner </li><li>Experience in teaching or precepting nursing students </li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing </li><li>Experience with online learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) </li><li>Prior experience teaching in a graduate-level nursing program </li><li>Familiarity with AACN Essentials, NTF Standards, and accreditation standards (e.g., CCNE) </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>Commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.</p> <p>Benefit Eligibility</p> <p>This position is not eligible for University benefits.
