<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Summer and Extended School Year/ESY Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/19/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>District Wide</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: July 7, 2026 - August 8, 2026, up to 6 Hours/Day X 20 Days, M-Th</p> <p>POSITION OVERVIEW: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavior analytic services for students receiving educational services in New London Public Schools, provides district-wide support and professional learning regarding behavior intervention techniques to certified staff, paraprofessionals, administrators, and parents/guardians, and conducts assessments and develops plans that conform to IDEA, Connecticut law and regulations, as well as other applicable statues and regulations.</p> <p>TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>This description of the position of Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is for identification and administrative purposes only. It is not intended to be a complete statement of all duties, which may be assigned or adjusted by the Superintendent of Schools according to varying needs.</p> <ul> <li>Provide behavior analytic services to children in the district who present with severe behavioral deficits/needs. </li><li>Provide supervision in accordance with current BACB standards of supervision for Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). </li><li>Develop materials, provide resources, and provide professional learning to administrators, educators, paraprofessionals, and/or parents/guardians in ABA and other evidenced-based methodologies related to addressing needs of students. </li><li>Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction based on principles of ABA. </li><li>Conduct functional behavior assessments and functional analyses to inform development of individualized behavior intervention plans. </li><li>Assist district staff with development and implementation of behavior plans, ABA instructional programs, and other appropriate programs for students. </li><li>Work with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support, training, and professional learning for staff who work with students who exhibit dangerous behaviors. </li><li>Collect data and prepare reports for the purposes of documenting case history, assessments, and treatment. </li><li>Maintain case records for all students. </li><li>Assess student's needs, develop research-based ABA interventions, and train District staff to implement programs to address activities of self-care and daily living for students with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities. </li><li>Participate in Planning and Placement Team meetings on an as-needed basis. </li><li>Conduct evaluations for the purposes of identification or reevaluation of special education services. </li><li>Carry out other responsibilities as designated by the Director of Special Education & Pupil Services. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or a related field. </li><li>Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as BCBA in good standing </li><li>Licensed Behavior Analyst in State of Connecticut. </li><li>Minimum three years work experience post BCBA certification developing instructional programs for individuals with disabilities. </li><li>Experience conducting functional analyses and developing function-based behavior intervention plans. </li><li>Experience training staff and developing professional development activities related to ABA. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with non-behavior analytic providers and team members. </li><li>Available in July for required training </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in public schools </li><li>Bilingual, English and Spanish </li></ul> <p>New London Public School District is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.</p> <p>Candidates from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.</p>
